I play girls lacrosse and it does require a lot of stick skills and quick thinking, but I also have a close friend who plays guys lax and the reason they have the deeper pockets is because they are out there getting their asses kicked.. My friend recently got his shoulder cracked and almost all of the ligaments holding his shoulder to his body torn up in a game. Does that help some of you dicks understand why guys have deeper pockets? In girls lax we r not getting body checked, so we can focus
You dont half to cradle cause they cant hit ur stick so why cradle and u dnt need a pocket for that and u cant run up to some one and body check them now can u and try and score when ppl are actually htting u instead of just standing there
Kind of funny that my school had a boys vs girls game last friday, and we had to switch sticks with them and play by their rules (Obviously lol) and the score was 11 to like 1. I've never touched a girls stick before that and I had 3 goals
if u were to put a man to play womens he would have a hard time avoiding the other players. the same would go in reverse for the woman unless she is faster and can avoid the contact she would be able to play deftly so womens u aqquire more skill but they are equally as hard

But I guess you have to play both to find out which one is more violent...

@Lexightonportia He was playing box lacrosse with full padding and helmet but no eye protection. HIs opponent let go a full force shot from 6 ft. in front of him which struck him in the cheek. Another injury was to bite a large hole in the middle of his tongue when checked. Whatever it was sewn up with smelled really bad after a while.
Your watching pro. Believe me its alot easier than it looks. When your playing... its different from watching. Because you are completely into the game. And its just second nature to act this fast. I promise you'll like it :) you should do it. I absolutely love it., and i thin you will too. <3

Even some men's lacrosse players will admit that women's lacrosse requires more skill; because there aren't any pockets in your stick, because there's no body contact, + the 8 m arc and 12 m fan, women's lacrosse requires more cooperation, skill, precision, and alacrity.

In women's lacrosse you have to be right beside of, or better in front of, your attack player. You have to be able to anticipate exactly where the player is going next, and because you can't hit the player, you either have to check very carefully or use your body to force the player on the outside of the field (which requires serious coordination).

Mens Lacrosse player here. Just wanted to know,how does stick checking work for you guys? and also how do keep each other from just running to the goal? Is equal pressure allowed or something?
the ball cant be under the like plastic part when you push it down in the heads little net.. get what i mean? and you cant just run up the field and score especially if youre playing a good team it takes strategy
so it has to be above the wall in order to check the stick? and I know you can't just run down the field, but how is it prevented? Like if someone was running towards you with the ball what would you do to stop her?
ohh i think we are talking about two different things... im tlking about before the game when the ref checks to see if your stick is legal...my bad. for checking you can check her stick when the stick is under her shoulders, you cannot check if say you are on her right side and she has the ball on her left side...i couldnt reach across her body to check her stick i have to be on the side of the ball, you cant check towards the face or around it.
ran out of characters haha but as for defense if a girl is running down the middle of the field there's really nothing you can do except stay with her and put as much pressure as possible on the girl. once she gets into the 12 if you arent at an angle, you will be called for shooting space and she would get a free shot so you have to force her out one way its confusing imi sorry haha
lacrosse isnt that hard...i started in 3rd grade and im still playing in soon to be 8th grade. its a great game....and it doesnt take up most of the time in skool.

no not really. there's checking, scoring, and you cant decide how you want things to go. youre not seeing who can "run the fastest" ur seeing what team can score the most goals. ur working as a team, not for yourself. lacrosse and track are almost completly different. and in my opinion lacrosse is both better and harder

Actually hockey would be the hardest sport if you could check! I play girls hockey too but I play third man in lacrosse and our team does play with some very hard contact!!!

all you need to know how to do in boys lacrosse is jump on people. girls lax actually requires some skill.

Even some men's lacrosse players will admit that women's lacrosse requires more skill; because there aren't any pockets in your stick, because there's no body contact, + the 8 m arc and 12 m fan, women's lacrosse requires more cooperation, skill, precision, and alacrity.

@fabulapowers just because there are no pockets does not mean its harder... it just means you have to be better at cradling (which isnot hard with either kind of stick) plus its easier to worry about cradling when your not worrying about getting hit by a defender with a 6 ft stick.... so stop making trouble and yes ive tried cradling with a girls stick its not that hard

Women's lax just requires more stick skills and slightly more speed, at least on the defensive part (because you have to position your body in front of the attacker). The guys (plural) who agree with me know full well I wouldn't give them a BJ for just saying something. :/ I would think you were a total douche if your screen name wasn't "I love hot sauce" and I do too so you're...okay.

Please try to compare the two sports without bias. Guys are just stronger, bigger, faster, and more coordinated. That's the truth. And i will ignore your comment about defense because i believe you're implying guy defenders don't need to get in front of attackmen their guarding? That just doesn't make sense.

@ilov3hotsaucexxx I've tried to restrain myself, but I'm really on the verge of rolling my eyes at you right now. First of all, you tell me to assess this with no bias, but you're biased yourself! How can I not be bias? I am a human, I have a natural bias to everything. What statistical and factual data that you have that girls are more uncoordinated than guys? And girls are slower because they are slower animals biologically speaking. That doesn't mean any guy can outrun any girl.

@ilov3hotsaucexxx Yes I have seen a men's lacrosse game. And as for defense, to me it looks more like mindless hitting than real anticipation. In women's lacrosse you have to be right beside of, or better in front of, your attack player. You have to be able to anticipate exactly where the player is going next, and because you can't hit the player, you either have to check very carefully or use your body to force the player on the outside of the field (which requires serious coordination).

@fabulapowers haha then you've obviously never seen a guy's lacrosse game. If you try to mindlessly hit as a defender, you will get burned by the attackman you're guarding. Guy's lacrosse is so much more fast paced than girl's lacrosse, meaning it requires a lot more anticipation and fast thinking than girl's lacrosse does.

@xlaxfreak03 I totally agree. when you play girls lacrosse you have to find a way to get the ball from someone without making a fowl or hitting the opponent which is a lot more difficult. Plus, we have a lot less protection and those balls hurt when they hit your arms or stomach

they are not illegal as you get older, and they can be hard but fast because if you do not remove your stick from theirs the refs call a holding.

the ball cant be under the like plastic part when you push it down in the heads little net.. get what i mean? and you cant just run up the field and score especially if youre playing a good team it takes strategy

so it has to be above the wall in order to check the stick? and I know you can't just run down the field, but how is it prevented? Like if someone was running towards you with the ball what would you do to stop her?

ohh i think we are talking about two different things... im tlking about before the game when the ref checks to see if your stick is legal...my bad. for checking you can check her stick when the stick is under her shoulders, you cannot check if say you are on her right side and she has the ball on her left side...i couldnt reach across her body to check her stick i have to be on the side of the ball, you cant check towards the face or around it.

ran out of characters haha but as for defense if a girl is running down the middle of the field there's really nothing you can do except stay with her and put as much pressure as possible on the girl. once she gets into the 12 if you arent at an angle, you will be called for shooting space and she would get a free shot so you have to force her out one way its confusing imi sorry haha

no not really. there's checking, scoring, and you cant decide how you want things to go. youre not seeing who can "run the fastest" ur seeing what team can score the most goals. ur working as a team, not for yourself. lacrosse and track are almost completly different. and in my opinion lacrosse is both better and harder
