It still has better picture than FZ100, probably because this last has so much pixels (14MP) for such small CMOS. The Sony is 9MP, that´s why the less noise.
But compared to FZ35 it has better stills and video even being just 720p
Yeah you right, i took the camera to a local Sony Shop, they couldn't find anything wrong with nor the setting, however if you google the user manual it's pretty useful
What I did is restore it to factory setting and after reading the manual gave me a more in dept how to go about changing the setting, tho it's not great but it have improve the quality
@syrincs45 like about 29minutes, but if you really want to record movie and do a bit of capturing picture, get a camcorder xD (It's like 50$ more of HX1)
nice video, what settings did you have the camera set to? You also mentioned that this footage was in RAW??? can you take RAW video from the HX1....thanks
I see lots of people talking about grain noise in the pictures taken by this camera! I recently purchased one for $489.00 tax included and I have to say its a decent bridge camera! If you are thinking of buying one look for me at Flickr search for Nosueltana under people and you should see some pics I have shot with this beauty! And about the noise, I just put the cam in handheld twilight and the pictures come out great! Also try to play with the ISO it works!
No one complain video quality of this camera, but the photo quality is just not great, price tag is $400-450 in stateside, memory stick require isn't helpful consider they cost more than sd card.
You can't compare it to Panasonic ZS3, which is a pocket P&S. What you should compare it to is the Panasonic FZ35, which you can adjust aperture during movie mode, which is insane. The FZ35 is also cheaper than the HX1, we got it for about $340 new on eBay. But I am still planning to get the HX1 for myself, but it goes for about $420, plus the damn memory sticks.
It's not possible to take photos while recording videos because de REC button is the same button of the shutter, so if you click it, you simply stop the video recording.
Many memories from that wonderful country!
