She is a black Latina, specifically, she is Puerto Rican and speaks both English and Spanish. Black is a race. Latino(a) is an ethnic background. They are two different things. The media perpetuates the steriotype that if you are not "brown," then you are not Latino. Latinos come in all races, black, white, indian, mixed-race, Asian and everything else in between. Jose Reyes, a baseball player for the NY Mets, is a black Latino. In fact, all the black guys on the team are Latinos.
