That's so funny... Anthony actually saw her singing in a room once, in a studio next to something they were doing, and he watched her. He said she was really nice when she realized he was standing there.
Random fact: PJ Harvey's recent band included Josh Klinghoffer. Josh Klinghoffer is best friends with John Frusciante. John Frusciante is RHCP's guitarist. Also, PJ Harvey has been 'friendly' with Vincent Gallo who is also friendly with...John Frusciante. Vincent Gallo has dated the same girl as Anthony Kiedis from...RHCP. She's not so far removed from this band as you think.
But she hangs out with all those rock guys, Josh Homme to name one, She's just a girl from the west country with an eclectic taste in music. The RHCP's make good music, yeah, they are slightly immature, but I would expect that it partly an act. You're probably right though, she's a classy gal. Incidentally I saw her play Dress for the first time at a club in Bristol when she was playing in John Parish' band Automatic Dlamini. I could tell she was a class act then.
