@mon2asw horror films like psycho,halloween and black christmas doesent need gore cause their deeper than that. Black christmas is actually so creepy that i sometimes forget that it's just a movie.

Everything else, its pratically its own movie, just same plot, but everything is diffrent. But Ive seen both 5 times each, this one is good if your into Jason type killings where you never see the killers face, and shiz. The other one is good if you like Michelle Trachtenberg and others, they made that movie good.

I guess there no such thing as originality anymore. I don't give a shit how many more jolts and blood there is in the remake, Bob Clark made one of the greatest movies in the genre by having all the horror be in the head of the viewer.
I saw the trailer for the new one alone that almost made me commit suicuide right then & there! As for the old one i never saw but saw the trailer & it looks pretty damn good.

the original movie INVENTED the slasher genre and inspired films like Halloween to be made, whereas the 2006 remake helped to destroy the horror genre of originality, suspense and mystery. It's scarier not knowing the killer's past. After all mystery is what keeps the Bermuda triangle interesting to this day.

From seeing the trailer to the new 2006 remake I can say It doesn't look anywhere as good as the original.
The voice of the killer in the 74 version is much more effective in being creepy than this new version.. where he sounds like the guy from "scream".
I guess well see..but this 74 original is one of my favorite Horror films.
