  • Busted this out today against some kid who's better than me. Got him =D

  • Can't wait to practice this tonight!

  • Love the first Kimura. I use something very similar to this that I apply from my back... That crucifix behind their head is brutal. If you twist onto your hip, you can use your knees to force them face down and prevent an effective roll, making it easier to apply the kimura.

  • Shit thats dirty...

  • i love this technique, thanks for sharing it, the funnest part is when they roll over into thinking they are escaping and BAM!! they are forced to tap.

  • this is a great technique.

  • Thats a really good, series well taught I really liked this series.

  • just genius!

  • great option =) thank you soo much for sharing the knowledge

  • Thank you thank you thank you ! Your Channel is a Goldmine

  • good vid

  • Cool variations! Nice post! I don't know if I like the idea of giving up such a dominant position for a guard submission as shown in the 2nd variation, just because If you can't sub him, you no longer have the mount. I like variation 3; it's very sneaky and seems like there's not much room for him to wiggle out of in the transition. Great explanation!

  • This move is so hard to get against a good opponent...

  • Can't the guy just roll forward and escape?

  • @theguybelowmefarted You have to keep your legs thight so he cant

  • @PitsaPeku15 It's hard with a bigger and stronger person

  • @theguybelowmefarted

Yes iti is by so is kimura itself against a stronger opponent.

  • There's a lot of fancy options once you secure that arm-lock at 0:18, but with any decent opponent, getting to that position is like 95% of the effort. As you're fighting to lock in that ude garami, your balance is shifted forward, over his shoulder and you're essentially locking your own arm down. If you go for this, you'd better be able to secure the lock before your opponent's Upa.

  • Dude you look like fedor here

  • Very cool.

  • i like this variation but i go strait for the rotaiting arm bar setup frm there if he trys to sit up throw the leg over the back n finish with the kimura

  • i'ma try this next time I get mount, thanks!

  • im so about to try this on my friend haha, he wants to roll with me, and said he got stronger, this is going to surprise him so much haah

  • is it me or does this guy look a lot like fedor...

  • Well, I know what i'm going to try the next time i'm on the mat.

  • LOVE U SUBMISSION 101 !!! :)

  • Cool stuff. What is preventing the guy from grabbing his inner thigh with his danger arm? Plus couldn't he rotate his hips toward his danger hand, stepping over you and get out? Maybe this is the consideration for all Kimura's. Good ideas. Thanks.

  • Good stuff, always love to see stuff that isnt dependent on the gi.

  • Woot! i totally used this rolling last night! thanks Sub101!

  • this is gold! totally surprised my grapple partner :D

  • isn't it much easier for the guy to stack him and roll backwards to escape the amrbar?

  • anyone asking "what happens if he doesn't sit up" doesn't really understand jiu jitsu because 2/3 of the moves shown here are applied when the opponent doesn't sit up. However, in Jiu Jitsu, most people will sit up because they will view his shift in weight as a mistake and will try to roll into the opponents guard which is much safer than being mounted on. This move is based on anticipating the roll but also troubleshooting in case he doesn't roll.

  • Beautiful technique.

  • The 3rd technique looks the most efficient. I don't like relying on their movements, I prefer forcing the opponent to do what I want.

  • @Momentimum heheh are you an american? cuz i notice you guys often roll that way, i always been taught to start trying to guide my opp to the position i want

  • @lagook That's exactly what I just said... and my profile says I'm Canadian. How can you just generalize like that?

  • @lagook What I meant by forcing was, giving them no other option than to move into a position in my favour.

  • THX for the video, it helps a lot!

    Cheers guys!

  • I wish everyone would walk around with a Gi, so that it makes BJJ easier on the street :D

  • Why pay hundreds of dollars of BJJ lessons when you got Youtube and Submission101

  • @Hellem09 cause you wont really know how to grapple unless you actually do them.

  • Comment removed

  • @Hellem09 LOL thnx you made my day.... cuz you know the people who teach in these videos didnt spend any money or mat time to get as good as they are to teach you this stuff online.... they just watched youtube too

  • high level move but doable

  • Nice video...but you can finish the Kimura from the mount without sacrificing top position. These variations don't seem to be the best options IMO.

  • @vginawhisperer i think the idea is that it's not so obvious as to what you're trying to do.

  • @vginawhisperer you have a point there, but i guess this move is especially well-used when your opponent is stronger than you and/or you lose your balance, then you can use it.

  • greattttttttttttt

  • love it.

  • sweet arm bar option

  • Nice, I think I'll use this one day.

  • If you can't finish the armbar, there's a nice bicep cutter with your shin available there too. I like these. Thanks.

  • gonna try this during sparring tommorow

  • The first one tends to work better if you lean without bringing your leg up and let them hip bump, once they hip bump, you bring your leg up wide and they think they have a sweep, but they don't. I noticed when I brought my leg up, they wouldn't roll into it... then I just look dumb... like a dog and a fire hydrant haha

  • This is great. The guys I roll with won't see this coming =D

  • that is one clever armbar....

  • Very nice series. I will be using this. I end up in the top position a lot.

  • fedor speaks english now?!! lol.

  • Very versatile.

  • i use it fromhalf guard and with my leg i bring him tome....thumbs up so every1 can see what to do if they dont sit up

  • sweet armbar transition, im going to try that

  • Overeem did this to Mark Hunt

  • Nicely done.

  • absolutely fantastic video!

  • cool

  • What happens if he doesn't sit up?

  • @Lichmidget I have the same question

  • @lightandshadow77 Please watch the entire video and you will see the arm lock option if he doesn't sit up.

  • @Submissions101 Is the option when he doesn't sit up; the armbar?

  • @Submissions101 Very sweet move, I like it a lot. I have one question on the armlock. Isn't it easy for the bottom guy to just sit up, grab tha arm that is being attack and end up in guard. How does the top guy prevent that from happening?

  • @Submissions101 if he doesn't sit up then you go to the armbar, right?

  • @Lichmidget if he just sits there then go back to mount or do something else, mostly he'll sit up though

  • @Lichmidget Please watch the entire video and you will see the arm lock option if he doesn't sit up.

  • @Lichmidget ....lol

  • 2:20 <--

  • @Lichmidget what if he doesnt let u punch him in the face when u throw a right hook? go play street fighter 2 again douche bag

  • excellent series, and excellent instruction

  • Nicely done video, and great explanation. I'd like to see more videos from Rob,even though i don't roll in the gi

  • Great vid, i am going to take martial arts classes, i love doing submissions, this helps.

  • Great move ;) thanks a ton you guys, im a huge fan. you should make a video on defending the kimora. some people struggle with it

  • Thanks to Rob Magao at Bushido Jiu Jitsu for this video!
