That actually worked pretty well! Interestingly, the version we learned here (Western/Central Canada) is just about the same as your Texas version so far as melody goes, but we repeat the 'let it shine' at the end rather than sticking an 'all the time' in there. It's kind of neat how these things turn up.
@scm152 Isn't that totally mental? It must have been like the slave gospels we learned about in media class-they were never sung the same way twice so when people tried to record the melodies they wound up with multiple versions...
