No external DVD/CD player included.

buy an external drive or use one in your network. This is universal for all netbooks (lack of cd drives)

that's the difference between a notebook and a netbook, netbooks don't have cd players, but u have the other option of USB's u can now even boot linux by usb.the only problem is when u want to watch a movie, than u need an external driver.

you can't compare Eee PC 1008ha to 1000he, they are quite different.

imho Asus Eee PC 1008ha has the best design of its category, but don't ask accessibility

I'm trying to decide which one to buy? This or 1000HE? 2 things that are stopping me from getting this one are:

1. Glossy screen, tho it looks stunning on photos.

2. Shorter battery life.

actually I prefer HDD on netbooks. SSD prices aren't still suitable for low cost PCs
