Up to that point England was helping out the confederacy with supplies, weapons, etc because as Lincoln pointed out a divided America is a weak and vulnerable America; that sounded good to the english because it meant they could reclaim America. Where it was a "states rights" war before EP made it into slavery and politics made it such that England could no longer help the confederacy. If England continued their help the South would have won. Turning point

Ok lets go with that; the union had more casualties, the confederacy were better shots because they were always hunting, but with all of that , even having the home advantage they still lost the war. That is pretty pathetic. perhaps it was the black soldiers that turned things around. Obama is in the executive branch 1/3 of the government, which means polarizing issues such as gay marriage are for the legislative and judicial

Southern officers were far superior to Northern officers. Most black soldiers spent their time behind the lines building railroads and carrying supplies. Also, the whole war was not fought in the South. Both sides led offensives into each other's territory. What are you using as your source?? You're wrong about everything!!!!

They probably just had as many hunters as the Southerners did. And that isn't even relevant when talking about 19th century warfare which focused on quick reloading, and not accuracy. The North had the supplies that the South never had. The North had industry, and the South didn't. Had nothing to do with Lee. Lincoln said that, but it isn't accurate...

Wow so accuracy was not a factor in 19 century war. lets say north and south both knew how to reload quickly, the southern accuracy would be the ex-factor. Also consider that lincoln only allowed black troops when the union was loosing, then afterwards the union won. What changed? Negro Soldiers Bitch!!!

The battle at Fort Wagner (the one you saw at the end of your Hollywood movie) took place AFTER Gettysburg, which almost all historians believe was the turning point of the war. Also, in what way do you think black soldiers were more effective than white? A higher percentage of black soldiers died than whites. You need to learn some history, boy.

You can only know just as much as what the rest of us could know? because according to my research "Most Historians" say that Fort Wagner was the turning point of the war including the President at the time who had first hand contact with all his generals as he was a very hands on president. If the commander in chief at the time says blacks helped win the civil war that is better than your historians. get back to me son

@aidanjmclean It was a chain of events dumbass because shortly after the Black soldiers showed their mettle Lincoln knew he needed them and made it such that blacks could enlist to the tune of over 180,000 volunteers. Then after that negro soldiers along with the yankee white boys kicked the shit out of the confederacy. case closed. Consider the emancipation proclamation. Up to that point England was helping out the confederacy with supplies, weapons, etc because as Lincoln pointed out a divided America is a weak and vulnerable America; that sounded good to the english because it meant they could reclaim America. Where it was a "states rights" war before EP made it into slavery and politics made it such that England could no longer help the confederacy. If England continued their help the South would have won. Turning point

We may have lost one battle but we did not lose the war, we never signed a treaty. The war was for freedom, not slavery. Go read historical documents. Yankees wrote your history books.
