The message and feeling of his comedy is simply being expressed through a different artistic outlet here (music). As a musician myself I'd have to disagree that this is shitty music. Its obvious to me that he had a knowledge of music theory. A lot of his music is almost jazz like (which is a very intellectual form of music.) Anyways I really don't get your point of view but you can think whatever.

What is it with criticism of Hicks that turns his fans into rabid attack dogs?
A 'proper' musician would be, for me, amidst far too many too mention, Miles Davis. Someone who undeniably played from the heart, but also had talent.
And a word of advice - learn the proper grammatical distinction between 'your' and 'you're' before you talk about the stupidity of other people.
