Total bollocks , you move the body and then the arms . If you move the arms while out stretched there is nothing stopping the attacker plunging you . However if you move the body the knife looses its direct force and is deflected alowing the hands to take the knife . Take a look at some of the systema videos .

Lol, the example is a much better technique then the one explained. Turning to the outside of you enemy is a much more favourable position. The attacker cant defend himself with his other arm plus in the explained technique the only thing the attacker has to do is bend his arm and you have a knife in your neck... -.-

The point is at the beginning to push the knife back with your elbow before you'll even turn and after turning back catch that hand. After these 2 moves u can decide what to do next, take the knife from the attacker or just make few defensive punches and kicks like the lady did and run away.

I will agree that this tech is not wise. Step away enough to give you distance to turn and face the threat. You have a better chance to identify the threat and react. Any confrontation that lasts more than 5 seconds reduces your chances to walk away un-scaved. Besides, most thug a-holes are not expecting to face a Krav Maga practitioner. It may actually be better to slowly go back against the knife, because if you just run, there's a chance the attacker will run after you, or even throw the knife. So this teaches you to disable the attacker before you make your escape. Just a thought.

only a very stupid attacker would use a knife like that. Usually they grab you by the neck from behind if theyre actually using a knife. Unless you have eyes at the back of your head this might actually work...unless theyre threathening you with a pistol. Best way to survive this: Avoid being alone at night in dark and lonely places, its not hard to do that and dont park your car in shady places, also look your surroundings before getting to your car. Some ambushes can be avoided.
