I don't like Bianca very much. And it's mostly because of her dialogue. They must've had at least three writers working on Bianca's dialogue because her dialogue was not written in a consistent manner. Sometimes Bianca talked like a woman from Texas and sometimes she talked like a woman from Australia. And sometimes Bianca had no accent in her voice at all...It's just a little thing that really bugged me for some reason. It's hard to imagine a voice when her accent is inconsistent.

Another thing that bugged me was the fact that Bianca is the "childhood friend." The childhood friend thing is a cliche' that needs to die. I had to swallow this childhood crap in Jade Empire and I wasn't about to put up with it, in Dragon Quest V, so I married somebody and I broke Bianca's heart in the process even though she tries to hide it.

@JimmyBond00912 They tried to show the difference in Bianca and Nera's upbringing. Nera's the educated rich girl while Bianca is the poor country girl. I found her accent annoying also but eventually got used to since I'm a Texan girl myself and find myself forgettin' "g's". I kinda wish they had shown a gradually lessening of her accent but she herself admits to just being a simple village girl. It's not right to dislike a person just cuz of their accent. Yangus would agree.

@Rushman200 Yep, Bianca talks very similar to Yangus cept she doesn't mess up on any big important words. She uses "dun't" instead of "don't" and that kinda got on my nerves. She says "Blimey!" and "Crikey!" a lot too which actually just made me love her more! "Crikey" is actually an old English slang word, but people usually just think of it as Australian since Steve Irwin made it famous.

@pendejochy Seconding this to the god damn moon. Debora is hands down the best choice. Fun personality, good-looking, more fight-oriented than the other two... Also if you don't choose her she'll never open up, unlike Bianca or Nera (in the DS version, at least). So there's really no reason to choose anyone else, IMO.

But speaking of Bianca, what was her accent supposed to be a parody of? I really couldn't tell.

In DQ5, at a certain point in the story you have to choose whether the main character marries Bianca, his childhood friend, or Flora, a wealthy heiress (and the new DS version has a third girl to choose from as well)

Because sometimes it's horrifically bad and completely destroys the show I think the old One Piece dub (hell even the new one! imo) can vouch for that as well as a whole bunch of others, but I also agree that sometiems dubbing is good like in Gungrave or Cowboy Bebop, but for the most part it's done poorly and a lot of the producers do a bad job at hiring voice actors for the roles they play. I'm sorry, but for the most part, it's always better to watch an anime subbed.

Sort of, in a way. Let's face it, dubbing goes even deeper than just changing voice, it also goes into part with editing. A lot of dubs have parts cut out or altered because it wouldn't make sense for the average american (as shown in this clip) or the FCC screws things over, In Japan it doesn't happen like that because the censorship is a lot less strict than it is here in america. And I'm pretty posotive that there's people out there in Japan that want to watch it the way it should be spoken.
