Also referees don't make penalties be retaken, even though the rules of football call for it. If a goalie moves early the ref should allow the pen to be retaken if it is missed.
Nothing wrong with talented players, but they should be using their talents like Marta does in scoring a goal, rather than say, Jurgen Klinsmann's famous diving, or Slaven Bilic pretending to be hit in the head. If players are clearly lying, and doing it on television for millions of people to see, they need to be brought to book after the event. This will act as a deterrent, and they may stop doing it, except in extreme situations when they do what they do to win on the night.

I watched until about the 65th minute. Agree that the Boxx sendoff was a bad call. Don't know what you saw that makes you say the US played better as a team, though. Looked slow to the ball (few 50-50 wins) and didn't match well with anyone one-on-one. Marta schooled 2 or 3 defenders on each of her goals -- check out the ankle-breaking move AFTER the sick heel pass on the last goal.
As for Hope Solo's bitter comments, she may have made the play on Marta's first goal (low, near post) and she may have stopped Kristiane's goal (Scurry was frozen on the left footed slot to her right). She would have been a spectator on the other two, including the unfortunate own goal.

That is just one of the many differences comparing with other good players. But comparing her with others right now seems just unplausible. She is just at another level.
