This song "The Light And The Sun" was asingle Jill was working on at the time (2010) when she was on tour with Maxwell. The album was delayed because Jill Scott was having problems with Hidden Beach. She has since left Hidden Beach and her new cd was released on a new label (With the same exact cd title she originally started with).

She left the Hidden Beach record label. Per her contract, she is suppose to do three or more albums under the original contract.

@purenoire they are suing her for the 10 year or 10 album deal true but, that is actually an illegal contract in california where the contract was signed...so she left and hidden beach is using some previously unreleased music to sell and she is making an independent now releasing The Light of the Sun on her own

@BrooklynKickz It was supposed to come out summer last year, but i don't know what happened. I know she had her baby last year and that probably played a big part in why the album did not come out. I just hope it comes out this year and I want her to tour because I have never seen her live yet. I love this woman!
