I hate to be the "Johnny Raincloud," but we never had America. America was never founded on Christian principles. Most of the founding fathers were in fact Deists, far from Orthodox Christianity. Many of the founding fathers were influenced by Enlightenment philosophers (who were prominently deists). The only Theistic nation to ever exist was ancient Israel. I'm a Christian who has studied history and I'm just trying to shed some light.

This song is a challenge for Christians who are sleeping to awaken to get on their knees and pray! The person who said that praying on our knees is standing up is absolutely right. We cannot legislate revival, although we can legislate public behavior that forbids indecent dress and actions in public. We can legislate the definition of marriage.

I agree with the post that we should be humble and pray, but doing that is standing up. There's a place in the Bible that talks about Standing in the Gap, and I beleve that we stand taller when we bow and pray.

@whip75 If I was President, I would make prayer mandatory in all schools. Any kid who doesn't participate would face immediate disciplinary action, including permanent expulsion, and any teacher who doesn't lead a prayer session would be fired and stripped of their teaching credentials, including their degrees.

No. We don't need to stand up. What we need to do is what the Bible says. Humble ourselves and pray. Seek God's face. Turn from our wicked ways.

Christians need to take the lead in doing this. Let's spend time on our knees before we try to stand up.

@wallywofford While it is true that we must humble ourselves before God, that is only half of our duties. The Bible in that same verse says, "Resist the devil and he will flee." Resisting implies taking a stand. Both must be done.

This is TRUE! The communist axiom is "if you tell a lie often enough and long enough, people will believe it," and that's what has happened in this case. The First Amendment says "Congress shall make NO LAW respecting the establishment of religion, NOR PROHIBIT THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF!!!" And to this day, the House and Senate still begin their sessions with prayer for wisdom and direction (shocking, isn't it!)

I love this song! Every word is so true. America was founded on the Bible. Our founding fathers were godly men who trusted and relied on God. Where are they today? I pray for our nation, that we will return to Godly bible-based values. One day soon Jesus will return for His people. I want to be among them. Praise be to God for His unfailing love!
