  • People are too busy recording and not jumping.

  • I love the way JPJ almost misses coming in on the mic, cuts out the bass to sing, and, like a great musician, that's no longer a mistake- he cuts it again the next bar, like it was meant to happen. What a bassist, what a musician.

The funny thing is, he didn't even have to sing then, it's Dave first, then Dave and John :D

  • My 38th birthday at this show. Not old just experienced!!

  • NYC? This was in Atlanta....I was there. Anyway, no matter where, they rock!

  • @MrIrishDutchguy SINGING LESSONS? What are you talking about? Songs for the deaf for you, fella.

  • Sweet Jesus, look at Mr. Grohl work them drums.

  • way cool

  • I love them, but some singing lessons wouldn't hurt :S

  • It weas so great being at this show. My wife wanted to hang back but I went for it into the crowd - and indeed it was loud... but worth it!!

  • OLD CUNTS ROCK!!!!!!!

  • AMEN TO THE ROCK GODS...THANK YOU!!!

  • Late 60's early 70's sound,fucking awesome!

  • this is my favorite from these guys

    sounds like a cream song!

  • @Pepper2Jason I totally agree

  • @Pepper2Jason exactly whaat I was thinking, sounds like jack bruce

  • the best part of this video is seeing the joy on their faces. they are loving this as much as us.

  • HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!! PINCH ME, THAT'S SO FUCKING GOOD!!!!

  • Fuck me grohl is amazing!

  • luv the way the band allways look at john`its like approval from a parent!

  • There are no words to describe the amount of pure awesomeness on this stage!!

  • was at this show - on my 38th birthday! Goes to show I am not too old too rock and Roll!!! This ROCKS!! so glad there is still new bands out there that rock rather than suck.

  • I like the guy thats like "No way! Lets go." He sounds so surprised that the Vultures are playing scumbag blues.

  • backup guitarist just groovin with em at the start

  • @Starman012 I believe that is the ex-bass player of QOTSA who replaced Nick Oliveri

  • This band is "The Best" thing going on in music right now! Hope they stick together for awhile.

  • Everytime I listen to this song I headbang at Dave Grohl's epic drum skills

  • Josh is one of my favs. Course Dave and JPJ are mucho badass too!!! I love Daves mic and how it retracts. flippin sweet!!!

  • JPJ is like, twice the age of Dave and Josh, but he only looks a few years older. Like a fine vintage.

  • dunno. how can you enjoy the show when your to busy trying to capture it on your phone. god people are assholes

  • finally a super group who doesn't disappoint !!..it's a bout fucking time these dudes show these young farts how it's done !!..and dave looks like he's on a high protein diet, ..his arms are fucking huge !! and what can i say about jonesy thyat hasn't been said alread?..a fucking master musician ,and the coolest living member of zep ! unlike a disgruntled plant, or a sell-out pagey !!..

  • Josh "croons" .. I like that (in the descrip)

That is exactly what he's doing. Even the way he speaks.. /shivers .. he truly is the ginger Elvis.

  • @daisyvision This whole song sounds, to me, like a tribute to Cream. The style of singing is very Jack Bruce.

  • spot on

  • yeah man, listen to strange brew and I feel free by cream.Same voice!

  • @fremderum

Actually "Strange Brew", "Tales of Brave Ulysses" "Wrapping Paper" and "I Feel Free" all sound a little like this.

  • @typosensei -Jack Bruce didn't sing Strange Brew, Eric Clapton did!

  • the drums are dave's natural habitat

nice camera by the way, better than usual youtube stuff!

  • Just picked up the vinyl today, this song shreds my ears off.

  • best shit in decades....

  • holy shit i cant wait to see these guys in denver 4/19/10!

  • prepare for assault on the ears . they are freaking LOUD, (but not messy ) .

  • HAHA! The look on JPJ's face says it all in 3:40-3:54! I bet he was thinking damn Dave look at you go! LOL classic

  • wow, grohl is insane in this vid. awsome

  • Amazing video, man...GEEZUS what a great song!

  • this is awesome

  • you know i would go into detail about the greatness of each members individual performance...but what's the point. it speaks for itself :)

  • first time i ever heard this it really had the cream sound , great song, john pauls infuence really shines here

  • yeah and i think "reptiles" sounds like Zeppelin, JPJ probably had something to do with that, wouldn't you say?

  • John Paul Jones we luv you xx

  • Warning highly infectious! What a great lil diddy!

  • They sound like Them Crooked Vultures. And you sound like an idiot.

  • in weird way it kinda does

  • Freekin cool live performance. John Paul was superb!

  • Dave grohls favourite band was Led Zeppelin, could you imagine having a favourite band, and then forming a new band with a member of your favourite band!? that would be sick

  • then page, jones, n grohl would be my band

  • @PsYcHoMiKe99 kewl man...awesome!

  • best song o the album

  • josh homme reminds me of jack bruce on this song....

  • I agree! This whole album reminds me of Cream, as well as Zeppelin (for obvious reasons). Simply awesome.

  • yep the album is just one of the best things i've heard in the past few years

  • Sexy, driving, thoughtful, rocking', what else could you want?

  • What bass is John Paul Jones using here?

  • Favorite TCV song ever

  • would have liked to be there, great music, vultures, chickenfoot, need more of that style of rock.

  • @1960patriot chickenfoot can't compare to this..not at all

  • chickenfoot is a classic example of a band having no material worthy of their talent . TCV has the material AND vitality , which is unusual in a band of veterans who have nothing to prove. Thats the way I sees it anyhow

  • Hagar has sucked since he left Montrose! I mean, look what Van Hagar produced- crap!

  • @5Cincinnatus

its incredible jpj rocks just as fucking hard as he did back in the 70s!

  • @5Cincinnatus i found that Chickenfoot isn't the best group of musicians to really play together... Chad is too funky and Satriani is too instrumental. Compared to TCV, who combine hard rock with psychedelic, TCV has it made. JPJ helped make psychedelic, Homme is modern psychedelic+rock, and Grohl is just fucking Dave Grohl. TCV > Audioslave+Chickenfoot

  • @5Cincinnatus ...and by having nothing to prove, they set the bar of what musicians should have to prove every time they step on stage. amazing.

  • @5Cincinnatus

I like them but i'm not 100% convinced it's that great.

  • dude dave grohl and john paul jones and josh homme = eargasm

  • Damn, I wish I could've see these guys.

  • i'd much rather see lighters at a concert than fuckin cellphones and camera's.

    fire is better!!!

  • Relax Beavis!

  • a real fan of rock music leaves his damned phone in the car or at home when you go to see a band

  • Says just another of the 30k people who have watched this video on youtube.

  • I don't care what you have to say .

  • Haha. You made not be a "real" fan of rock, but you are a real cunt

  • your cool though

  • Fucking right I am

  • @Doerksen454: Damn right man, some times I wish I was back in time in the late 60´s and early 70´s!! when rock n roll heaven was made..

  • @Doerksen454 I imagine if lighters had recorders installed in them, you'd see those up instead ;)

  • I'm agree with you. Welcome to the real world.

  • its disappointing to see so many people focused on their cell phone video, rather than simply enjoying the live experience. If I worked my way up front, I certainly wouldn't pull out my phone. Its like zombies....

  • @Reptoid: I totally agree! I hate being on the floor and seeing all the screens, it's distracting. They should be dancing, not filming!

  • Fuckin' awesome!

  • it's bout ime that some1 put up a video of them!! hope to more in da near future!!:)

  • I just gotta say it's soooo awesome to see a rock band improvise a solo section like jazz performers regularly do. Homme, and especially Grohl and Jones have a brilliant chemistry with each other. They are incredibly synchronized and are fully capable of adapting to each other. Additionally, it's good to see Alain back in action too.

  • Good lord what a rhythm section!! Now this is one awesome band!!!

  • excelent song made by excelent musicians.thanks for showing this video to us ;)

  • If this is any indication of what the next decade's music is going to be like then next decade will kick the ever-living shit out of this decade's ass. Let's hope this is the future.

  • We've got to Deserve The Future, eh?

  • who played theremin on a qotsa album? and what song is there a theremin on? just curious......

  • it's so good too see grohl back on the drums. What a control of dynamics, he's amazing. Anyone who doubts that he's one of the best drummers of today's scene has no understanding of music.

(these 3 guys are legends, buy the way)

  • Feel the effin GROOVE man. These guys are sick. And I already knew it. But they make you PROCLAIM it!

  • JPJ still fuckin has it

  • dude this band is fucking epic.. dave groul and JPJ!! JPJ? DUDE COME ON ..HOW IS THIS NOT EPIC AS HELL!!

  • Hell man, include Josh Homme. Between Kyuss, QOTSA, and this band he'll reach legendary status. He can alsoe can play all the instruments like Dave.

  • AWESOME!

  • 3:46 What a legend

  • The second guitarist looks like the lead guitarist for Eagles Of Death Metal, probably is.

  • no man he's Alain Johannes from Eleven ,he was bassist on QOTSA and play with his wife Natasha Shneider

  • he did a lot more than bass with QOTSA he played piano, guitar, theremin etc on the albums

  • Yeah, Josh Homme is lead in Eagles of Death Metal, saw them live supportign Arctic Monkeys!

  • No, Jesse Hughes is lead in EDOM. Josh just does drums, guitars and back up vocals on the album. He doesn't tour often with them.

  • Yeah, it's cause he's bald now.

You're thinking of Dave Catching, who is the guitarist for EoDM and used to play with QotSA occasionally.

Alain does kinda look like dave catching when he's bald =P

  • That drum mic stand is badass. I've never seen that before. Does anyone know if there's a pedal that Dave pushes to make it come forward and retract?

  • His drum tech. moves it for him when he needs to sing.

  • Ah, that's not as cool then. :/ Brilliant invention if anyone wants to steal it, though.

  • Man JPJ has still got it what a champ

  • Anyone else hear the Cream vibe in this tune?

  • Yup. Especially the melody of the vocals.

  • everybody says that

  • It's hilarious how much fun they're obviously having.

  • this has got to be 1 of the best supergroups in a long time... theres pretty much 3 generations of music here... 60s-70s (john paul jones) 80s-90s (dave grohl) and 2000s (josh homme), yet it works so well... big fan off led zeppelin, nirvana, qotsa, and foo fighters, and this just seems to be up there with those already (in their early stages)

  • I know what you mean but in my opinion Dave and Josh belong to the same generation, they started playing as teens in the 80's, rose to fame (sort of for Josh) during the 90's, and they both front successful bands at the present.

  • Josh has been playing in bands since the 80's

  • but he didnt really get anywhere until late 90s - early 2000s, where dg made it with nirvana in 91

  • They recorded albums which were sold worlwide and also toured since the second half of the eighties

  • I'm a pretty big fan of Queens and especially Kyuss, but I honestly can't see why SFTD is so praised. It's a great album, but was hugely inaccessible and hard to get into, and even now that I like it, I can't see the greatness that others seem to see. Opinions, anyone?

  • Are you referring to songs for the deaf, that cd is amazing, I've never had a problem getting into it, in fact, i need to put it in to storage every once in a while to avoid it getting over played... also I had this 20 year chick that had never heard it before in my car a couple of weeks ago and she was freaking out about how good it is... ps, all these losers should be kicked out for recording like that, serously how many cameras are up in the air, retarded!

  • I completely agree. If I had to pick the worst album between Queens of the Stone and Kyuss, it would be a toss-up between SFTD and Wretch. Both are great, but not even close to the other albums IMO. Most people I know who think STFD is the best Queens of the Stone Age album do not like Kyuss.

  • OMG how john paul jones plays the bass =0

    UNBELIEVABLE xD

  • This is so freaking awesome, this really gives one hope about the future och rock music. The energy their producing is so raw and pure it's magical like rock music should be.

  • I knew after Songs For the Deaf that Homme would find a way to play with Grohl again, the way he talked about how that album and the shows they did were..... Rules.

  • This was the best rock concert I've ever seen. Loud as hell, with crushing riffs and insane energy! Dave doesn't play the drums. He hurts them.

  • whos the bald guy? what band is he from?

  • He's Alain Johannes, a musician that worked with Homme's QOTSA and also toured with them in the Lullabies To Paralyze tour.

Hey men, this is REAL rock music! I've been loving Homme's music and Grohl's drumming from a long time, but what the hell, have you seen the way JPJ played his bass ath this show? Amazing!

  • Alain Johannes, he's pretty famous in the underground scene, he's from the band Eleven, he also helped Chris Cornell bring his career up, he's been in a lot of genres, he was in a band with flea and a few other people, he's pretty sick

  • And Cornell helped bring that career down all by himself. Euphoria morning is pure Eleven

  • this has to be the best thing ever in history.

  • is dave using double kick with this band

  • No, Dave never plays double kick.

  • no.

  • I saw them in Columbus. I've noticed every seems to post how LOUD they are. Maybe the loudest show I've ever been to. Ears rang for 3 days. Those 2 Fender Twin Reverbs Alain plays through are soooo loud. JPJ's bass rig is gigantic, especially that Bad Cat head which is the size of a combo amp.

  • You don't know what your talking about.

  • you actually said 'hip'. wow

  • Overtones of Jack Bruce and Cream

  • i saw them at the electric factory three days earlier, and i was pissed that i didnt go see them here too. dave grohl is god

  • awesome

about time someone gives loves to the bass guitar

  • Alain's looking hot. Loving this video, cheers for the decent quality.

  • they say dress for the job you want, not the job you've got. SO why does Alain seem to want to be an accountant instead of a part of this, obviously the greatest super group ever. J.k. much love and admiration all around!!! RIP Natasha Schneider!

  • Bad ass! They need to come over to California!

  • rumor is the have a show at the Wiltern Nov 17

  • This is the speed that's on the teaser, so I'm guessing this version is close to the album recording.

  • dave is magic he uses his jedi powers shit you don't know anything

  • whos controlling daves mike it swings in every time he sings

  • Hahah so many other people also filming. Great video! Awesome quality!

  • what an amazing song

  • I was standing right in front of you when u were recording this .... amazing show

  • Yes- some action up there on stage. How bout that high pitched 'weeeeeeee' when you tried to go to sleep? Damn loud it was in there

  • Fantastic!

  • This was truely an awesome show!

  • he wore it in boston too

  • why in the world is Johannes wearing a suit ?

  • 'cause its Broadway, pal. heh. probably, right?
