  • The last clip, Tom is on something!!! Look at his movement :P the way hhe is talking :D

  • I really wanna see Tom singing that part of the song 10 ft away from the mic

  • 1:38 do u think tom and that other guy planned to look away and then down at the same time?

  • nice video :D

  • This is the peak of Tom's songwriting. Everything after the first Angels and Airwaves album sounds the same/sucks.

  • @lastplacewin Hell no, fucking listen to Secret Crowds, Rite of Spring, Crawl. AvA is genius.

  • lol nice guitar playing xD kiddychords ftw!

  • I LOVE YOU SO MUCH GUYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

    _ITALIAN STALLION_

  • 2:00 Song: Here's Your Letter

  • He meant that they are all in the key of E major, so it would be fine to put an E on top of them. He played perfect octaves of E, F#, and G# , the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd scale degree of E major, respectively.

  • Todays Schedule:

    1 Record Guitar

    2 Record Mark's Vocals

3 Shoot a can of Sprite

    4 More Guitar

  • fuck!tom can tap...

  • 2:00 what song?

  • @Teutonic1250 "here's your letter"

  • am i the only one who noticed him play a little bit of not now when he says their all E's at like 0:52

  • Haha i loved the tapping at the end :)

  • Get ready for action!)

I got no regret right now (I'm feeling this)

The air is so cold and low (I'm feeling this)

Let me go in her room (I'm feeling this)

{I love all the things you do / {I wanna take off her clothes (IÂ’m feeling this)

Show me the way to bed (I'm feeling this)

Show me the way you move (I'm feeling this)

Fuck it, it's such a blur (I'm feeling this)

I love all the things you do (I'm feeling this)

  • dude... Is Tom on something at the end or is just drunk? Look how he moves and talks xD

  • I love the Les Paul he's using! <3

  • tom means when he says all e's he means open E string 7th fret a = an E and its octave the third E. although he has a capo on at F# i think he may have his E string tuned down to D making that 2nd fret an E not sure though just thinking.

  • That would be F# not E

  • @harvestsoulfly no its an e

  • @DavidBowieRocksHard Look where his capo is. It's on the 2nd fret, F#.

  • Comment removed

  • the top string is tuned down a step. E

  • @DavidBowieRocksHard Ok... that makes sense. He just drop tunes the E to a D.

  • Why's he always play with a capo on the 2nd fret?

  • Anyone know if Tom got rid of his Fenders or if he still has them?

  • @Salger12 he still has one but he doesnt use it kinda like how he still has his old les paul

  • what song is he playing at 2:00????

  • @N0B0Dy43 "Here's your Letter"

  • @griosss Thanks! :D

  • when he speaks, i melt inside.

  • 1:40 im really glad tom ended up doing the vocals for always lol

  • @dudemanguyguy182 umm mark did backing vocals for always.

  • @penguinsoulja96

no shit. i just mean main vocals

  • @dudemanguyguy182

    Those were the backing vocals.

  • @dudemanguyguy182 Mark was never going to "end up" doing main vocals for Always.

  • @dudemanguyguy182 Really? You though Mark was originally singing Always? He's doing the background vocals at 1:40 and if you listen to the song you can still hear him. They do this for almost all of their songs.

  • @XxiBlenkSixX Open E tuned down to D with a capo, just the E string tuned down to D With a capo

  • Fag. Sense not made. Fag

  • I wanna see tom play a beast solo

  • He's playing open e with a capo on..,

  • @butchered87 he drop the first string on D ans he put a capo on the second fret... its sound more heavy.. try it u will see :)

  • I love the way he mocks Mötley Crue and all the other "heavy" 80s bands when he starts tapping and says "That you be fucking cool" x)

  • need some sprite.

  • I blame capo's for Angels And Airwaves

  • At the end is tom useing a cort or a gibson?

  • @lostboy1126 gibson

  • whats the name of the song at 1:56

  • @6SICCS6 Here's Your Letter I believeeee

  • I'm a dumbass when it comes to guitar, so can someone tab this?

  • @Lottielou23 there are lot of tabs on the internet for nearly every song

  • F#ck my bad... There's a second white amp head on top of the Diezel one. That looks alot like an old Marshall amp. Again, I'm no gearhead but it looks like it has something plugged into it aswell as the Diezel underneath it... Like I said it's studio recording so who knows what they've got plugged into what.

  • "theres a perfect spot for me to do sum little fuckin... *metallica riff* or sumthn" hahahaha NO TOM! UR NT BOGAN!

  • "Here's Your Letter" is the song played at the end. So epic.

  • Can anyone tell me what make of amp tom is using at 1:50 please??

Blink rule, can't wait for the new Album! :D

  • @DaveDude323

The amp head on top of the "rack" is a Diezel, I don't know what type though. But as it is in the studio he probably has his signal running through more then one amp at once and he recorded a couple of tracks for the same part using different amps and guitars. Tom's old live rig were 2 Mesa Boogie Triple Recto's and a Marshall JCM900 powering 3 Mesa 4X12's with 2X12's on top of them.

  • @holyshiteater

Cheers, I searched for ages for an amp make begginning with D lmao, that's all I could make out. And nice find there, I didn't even notice there was a white Marshall like head on top of that stack haha xD

  • *Sprite can falls over*

    "Yuhaaah"

  • is that a gold top or is it just yellow?

  • anyone know which les paul this is???

  • @paintball8439 i think its the gibson les paul custom eb gh go have a look on it ;)

  • @paintball8439 It's an old or vintage white Gibson LP Custom that just faded to that yellow-ish colour it has in the video. U2's the Edge has an old white Custom that faded to yellow aswell. I have a 1980 Gibson Sonex that came in white and it's cream/yellow coloured now. It's just something that could happen to guitars over the years

  • how much does the Gibson Les Paul Tom's playing right there weigh compared to his Gibson Signature?

  • Drop D - Capo 2nd fret

It's basically like playing it standard but try it you'll see it sounds way cooler.

Tom does that a lot in a few songs, i think it's quite clever to do it that way

  • @Benjiboi87 did he just drop E to D or did he completely drop every string a whole step?

  • @OmniscientBand

E string to D, all the other strings are in standard tuning. The capo on 2nd fret makes the Drop D string sound like a E. So, basically it sounds like playing it without a capo in standard tuning: EADGBE. Using a capo like he does, makes it sound a bit different, even though the D becomes an E, power chords from the E string would have to be played as if you played in D tuning, instead of going 5-7-7 for example. you'd go 7-7-7. And that's what he's doing on there

  • "That would sound fuckin cool"

    Awkward silence......

    "Yes it would"

    hahaha

  • this is in a different tuning right? i thought this song was recorded one and a half step down

  • Ok thanks

  • there octaves you clown lol

  • What tuning is it for feeling this

  • @LPROKER1 standard

  • @teaforone its drop d :)

  • @LPROKER1 drop d

  • "that sounded fucking cool" -love tom

  • hahahahahahahaha!!! 2:25 ya tom that'll totally fit into "here's your letter"! (:

  • The red hollowbody Tom is using in the last bit is actually an ES 333, I guess you could say it´s the less fancy brother of the 335. I think Tom kept it stock because it comes with the opencoiled humbuckers and I have seen other pictures of the guitar and it does not have an SD Invader at the bridge because I can´t see those typical rings around the pickups polepieces... I have a DeLonge strat, Toms old signature and that comes with a SD Invader so I know what it looks like.

  • @holyshiteater his siganture epiphone or gubson what ever it is comes with a dirty fingers pickup

  • @VALKRYE2009 As I mentioned in my comment about the red Gibson ES Tom is using in this video.. I was talking about his OLD Fender Stratocaster Signature he played before he went to Gibson, I know his Gibson Sig has the Dirty Fingers pickup but his old Strat had a Seymour Duncan Invader

  • @holyshiteater okay cool just makin sure :)

  • WOOW tom know how to tap :P

  • LMFAO 1:50 LOLOL WHAT?!

  • how can he get his guitar to sound like that at the beggining is it the guitar he's playing or the amp?

  • its his amp

  • @LachlanBerry05099 so like if i wanted my guitar to sound like that, wat amp shud i get and can ALL guitars sound like that?

  • uh well no two guitars will sound exactly the same, but with an amp with the right effects (or u can use an effect pedal) then you can get any guitar to sound similar. That said im not sure what effect he is using here.

  • and tom uses mesa boogie and marshall amps for refrence.

  • @olivermurphy1 he runs his guitar through eq and compression and attacks it hard and a flanger to get that wavey alien sound then to a mesa boogie triple rectifier on distortion then a marshall on clean and he also loves to mess around with alot of other amps and effects like in angels and airwaves

  • hes using my guitar

  • @DECIFERTHIS09 na m8 UR USING HIS

  • say wha tu loke bout them....they still make catchy tunes!

  • AHHHH API LEGASY! :D:D:D:D:D:D

  • um...sprite? alright. let's go with it.

  • "they are all E's, they are like all harmonics of eachother"

love how tom had no fucking idea what he was talking about then haha

  • haha so true

  • @Well4QThen lol yeah thats the best part.

  • @Well4QThen You dont know what your talking about. They are all E's. You can see that he has a capo on the 2nd fret in drop D. Which makes the first and third strings both E's. The riff is also based around the 7th fret on the second string, which is also an E. STFU if you dont know shit about the guitar.

  • @meleeking25 LULZ FAIL.

the chords he uses are E, D and F#, with the low E cause he Dropped the D. He hits that low E and then slides the three chords. What he MEANT to say was that they are all in the same key, 'they are all harmonics of eachother' doesn't make sense. OMG you are so fucking retarded. i've studied advanced Music Theory for 3 years faggot. Also, 53 people are agreeing with me? so, you STFU.

  • @Well4QThen dont you think it makes no sense?put capo on 2 fret and drop in D?

could he just leave standar tuning?lol..

  • @Well4QThen he was probably a lil drunk. he always is

  • @Well4QThen u idiot he played all the notes WITH e's so they were all e's ... he was talking to the recorder he didnt havee to specify that he was playing e's and every other note with it he was explaining that each note was played WITH e

  • @skateface FUCKSAKE. that is not the fucking point you dickhead, yes they are all played with e's, what i'm pointing out is how he said they are all harmonics of eachother THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. actual retard.

  • @skateface FUCKSAKE. that is not the fucking point you dickhead, yes they are all played with e's, what i'm pointing out is how he said they are all harmonics of eachother THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. actual retard.

  • @Well4QThen Just need to be good at making music, not knowing what you're doing, lol

  • @Well4QThen and yet he's still a fucking genius :P

  • @Well4QThen he meant that its all e notes just on different octaves so he probably knows what hes talking about

  • @tipailovas yeah tom uses E and B alot

  • @tipailovas fuucking hell, i've had so much bullshit coming in response to what i said.

RIGHT; i fucking love Tom Delonge, i give full credit that he is a fantastic musician.

what i was plainly trying to exaggerate was that 'they are all harmonics of eachother' does not make sense.

    PLEASE EVERYONE STOP FUCKING REPLYING.

i do not give a shit, it was a simply a joke, it was a year ago. please get the fuck over my single comment.

    that is all.

  • @Well4QThen it does make sense

because you are retard im going to reply 10 more times to piss you off because its that easy

  • @Well4QThen Go take some theory classes and learn what harmonics really are douche bag

  • @Well4QThen what he meant was everything is in E. the E stays constant and everything else he played harmonized with that E. so it does make sense. if you think of it that way. haha just givin you shit man. people always freak out about comments

  • @tipailovas nah those werent all E's, what he meant was they were all in the Key of E so it works well

  • @Well4QThen its funny cuz it does make ABSOLUTELY no sense..

  • 2:28 hell yeah

  • 1:36

  • wie heist den das lied was er als letztes spielt ?...

  • @KiLLiduStries

    Heres your Letter

  • thx

  • can anyone send me the correct tabs for feeling this??

  • look at the frets on his guitar and play it

  • is this played in Drop D?

  • what guitar is that at 2:10?

  • it looks like an es-333 from gibson it might be one of his "signature" one's in a red color. From the sound of it and the lack of a neck pickup from what I could see, it most likely is a gibson custom,.

  • its not his sig, its a custom he used for most of his tour idk y tho

  • There is a photo of Tom with a red es-335 with a a few mods like single volume pot and a solid cover over the neck pickup hole. Maybe that's it. All the mods looked "home grown". Yo u think maybe that is our mystery guitar?

  • no, its some ones custom i think, or its just a reg ess 335, but ik its not his, then he just modded it up

  • You've had the most decisive answer so far, So let's go with yours.

  • that looks like an epiphone from the headstock shape and tuners

  • no because the Head stock is blocked not curved, That makes it a gibson

  • i have a blocked epiphone. epi headstock corners are usualy cut

  • hey kickboy, Iamjayydee and I are trying to figure this one out for you so hang tight bro.

  • Iamjaydee has pointed out that it is an es-335 (possibly with mods, but most likely stock) I hope this helps.

  • it's a gibson es-335(i think) that he used with boxcar racer, i don't think it's one of his signature ones though....

  • You're right. It's a gibson es-335. Stock..........except he replaced the bridge pickup with a black Invader. That red es-335 was the base for the signature that he made later on.

  • The producer guy is the most un-enthusiastic person.

  • man that guitar sounds sooo sick at the end, sounds like his old mesa/boogie amp....sounds sooo much better than the combos Tom uses now

  • whats that song at the end

  • Here's Your Letter

  • lmao that dude on the right sorta looks like amir from jake and amir haahahaha.. fuck i love blink 182

  • I think he meant to say octaves,

    not harmonics, lol.

  • ur right kid hahaha all these dumb people are looking down on you because their precious tom cant be wrong

  • Haha, I know.

He's a great dude and whatever,

but he's not as musically inclined as they'd like to believe.

There are videos of him not knowing how to count and shit, lol.

Not too many blink fans are actually musicians. =P

  • ironically you are wrong, a lot of blink fans are musicians. whether they are actually good musicians is debateable.

but about tom, he has more talent on guitar than most think, despite one video of him not being able to count.

  • Lol, not that I've met.

A good 80% of people I've met who are into Blink

are pre-teen girls who like Blink for the most part, because they find the members attractive, haha.

    No musical inclination, whatsoever.

    And I wasn't saying he wasn't talented.

I know he is, he was actually my inspiration to take up guitar.

I'm saying he's not as talented as the fans would like to believe.

  • oh ok i see. sorry i misread your comment. he inspired me to take up guitar as well. haha. although most of the people that i know who are into blink arent preteen girls...they're people who appreciate good music for what it is.

but yeah that whole fanbase of girls who only like blink for what you said...thats just stupid. that was the one thing i didnt like about going to a blink concert. screaming girls.

  • No problem, haha. :)

That's cool he inspired you, too.

Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of too many friends who play music AND like blink.

And yea, I'd imagine it would suck.

    I almost went. =P

  • did you know 91% of statistics are made up?

  • @StefanoSession Even that one?

  • yup

  • @StefanoSession Ironic. :)

  • and he has, musically and technically progressed a lot since this video.

  • Dude, totally agree!

But didn't Tom teach himself how to play the guitar? I don't mean to start any sort of fucked up fight or anything, just saying :]

  • Lol, I taught myself, too.

Teaching yourself is no excuse, unless you taught yourself in the fifties. =P

I think even Malmsteem taught himself, haha.

He's one of the craziest guitarists out there.

  • Yeah, I know! Malmsteem IS really awesome!

And I'm not making an excuse for him! I'm just saying :P

  • he did just by listening probably watching ppl

  • yeah hahaha i agree

  • @Xx444nathan444xX

im a musician and a blink fan and so are my two band mates.

  • "Throw a lil bit of that in there" LOL XD

  • favourite band of all time

    BLINK 182 FTW!!!

  • i think he uses the capo since his guitar is tuned down to drop D, with the capo it turns it back into an E but with a more dead sound to it.. it rings out more with no capo in regular tuning and thats not what he wanted in that song i'm assuming

  • 2:03 what song is that??:D

  • Here's your letter

  • wats the song toms playing to at the end?

  • Here's Your Letter.

  • why does tom always use les pauls for recording but his strat or es 333 for live shows?

  • because its probably one of the best sounding guitars in history. its just a good recording guitar, he used to play a Les Paul live until he got a sponsorship from Fender then Gibson. plus, since he had back surgery and the les paul is really heavy, it probably isnt the best combination.

  • Isn't the es heavy too

  • his Gibson is actually not that heavy. its a good weight since it is a semi-hollow body. its not heavy, but its not that light either.

  • i didnt even know he even used les paul

  • Most likely because Les Pauls are heavy beasts, and strats are relatively lighter. And you know how much Tom likes to move on stage. =P
