AC4 is still most awesome in my opinion. You need to see if you can get a helmet(albeit expensive) to display with it. You might be able to fake the carbon lined hood with a nomex open face balaclava with shoulder cowl. I think they make that kind of thing for cold weather motorcyclists. The DREO one is certainly awesome though. You know off the top of your head which company makes the AC4? It's not DREO is it?
If you send me some links for a helmet I'll try my best to get one, I don't know what I'm looking for lol. And for the AC4 I believe it is DREO who makes it because they made all the C4 series masks didn't they? On my green C4's and the AC4 there is no marking of which company make it, the first gen black C4 is the only one with the DREO stamped on it. So I would imagine that it would be DREO because who's going to copy that exact design?
The C4/AC4 masks are made by Airboss Defence in Quebec. DREO designed and developed the C4 mask but did not make any production models. DREO (Defence Research Establishment Ottawa) was a research agency of the Department of National Defence. The division responsible for the mask development was disbanded in 1994, so any mask marked DREO was actually made with pre-production tooling. The AC4 was a variant developed for Sea King aircrew during the first gulf war in 1990.
@gruntythe1andonly From left to right I paid an average of about $80 for each of the first three C4's, and the last AC4 mask I can't exactly remember but it wasn't cheap.
