The Chinese are no different than any other major power in that respect. Bear in mind that the China/Africa relationship is in its infancy. There is going to be a serious scramble for resources in this century, and Africans would be wise to trust no one, either the West or China.

Millions of Chinese workers lost their jobs because of globalization when people around the world are benefiting from the cheap products produced in China.

Why do media like BBC pay no attention to what is happening to the Chinese workers which might be the largest group of people who lost their jobs in the past decade?

are not colonialists. European colonialism was the military conquest

and occupation of a country, forcing by gun the extraction of materials

and shoving back of finished goods. The Chinese are paying Zambians

the right to mine their copper and winning customers by selling cheaper

stuff. Zambia must weight if this relationship will uplift the country.

It will be their choice because the Chinese are not pointing a gun.
