@joeschmoe001 No actually its not, the exact thing this cleaner does is take off where the carbon builds up. If it was self cleaning like you say then there wouldn't be carbon build up in the first place.
Great tool got mine today and used it on a bolt I had microslicked a few years ago. Microslick helps keep the carbon off but this tool still pulled off carbon I didnt know was there. Thanks.
Incorrect. The blade is the exact radius as the bolt and therefore physically impossible to cut into it. The polishing removes no metal either. It does remove the parkerizing, or for you the "finish". But since everyone knows that parkerizing is meant to prevent rust, it doesnt matter if it is removed because we all properly apply some type of protectant to the bolt before we put it back in the gun. This tool does not and will not change the bolt , other than to clean it.
that cutting tool is removing metal off the bolt. Sure it gets "most" of the carbon but anything that's not softer then the bolt, is i repeat REMOVING METAL. Same goes for the polishing part, removing even more metal, stripping away the bolt finish if any, and leaving crevices for carbon to hide in again. Do. not. Want! Chemicals and nylon brushes anyone?
@PrinceMustDie666 Do you realize how hard the steel of the bolt of an AR15 is?And a green scrubby will not remove a large portion of metal and will actually help to keep a smooth service. The finish on the tail is gone by round 1000 no matter how you decide to clean it. This tool would save a lot of time if you shoot an AR on the regular. I would get it but can't justify the $30.00 price. If it cleaned the inside of the carrier i would reconsider. Would only save me about 8 min of cleaning.
Cool litle tool. Just purchased one for my buddies Birthday yesterday. Seems to be well thought out, and it is large enough to NOT be lost in a tool box. In Christ: Raymond
I like that...gonna have to get some....after the holidays lol

Just another un-needed tool. The bolt is self cleaning and I see no point in it.
