  • Thank god for this pianist.

  • qualité sonore de l'enregistrement nullissime !

avec une telle interprète c'est honteux de mettre en ligne on est oblogé de couper le son et avouez que cela n'a pas de sens .

  • Such Power!!!

    lololololol

  • She's alright

  • madonna santa che zaurda, che modo isterico e patetico di suonare questo studio! Vai a vendere frutta al viale

  • Beautiful. The piano song, and you, Astanova.

Bravo...

  • Any way you could redo this with a better sound recording? Because you play it amazingly and its kind of a shame that the sound isnt that great.

  • Vraiment dommage que le son soit si mauvais!!!

Le passage lent manque de lié et de sentiment mais c'est néammoins une performance que ce morceau!!!

  • yeah really who clicks dislike to stuff like this?

  • You have something new in this performance, I liked you accent notes, your movements are amazing! :D

  • This is a wonderfully expressive performance. I wish I could meet you someday and shake your hand. Thanks for taking your craft seriously. This made me cry.

  • How can you dislike this, you miserable assholes??

  • I agree with @Tubztele with better recording equipment we'd get a way better perception of how nicely played this is

  • horrible sound qual get new equpiment

  • Hate to tell you, but you're redlining that mike so bad that all that is coming out is distortion. I'm sure you're a fine pianist, but you should do a little audio test first.

  • LOLA ASTANOVA Lola Astanova Lola Hasta no va ... Lola is not going to ... Lola is in love with the piano, As her finger caress the keys; Lola has a strong will, And will get what she please. Give Lola the piano So she shares her love with me.
  • And this is how you play the piano with emotion and expressiveness ^_^

  • @2:08

    She breaks the piano X_X

  • SPEECHLESS

  • I'm not big on solo piano but for some reason this just absolutely blows me away!

  • я так смеялся-это называется месть мужу

  • @gyperzoom ti idyiot. ana atlichna eta c'igrala

  • I thought I had heard the best performance of this before I heard yours - I speechless - incredible performance : )

  • @Zoltan9426

than you must had heard some amateur's recordings, check out Lugansky and Horowitz interptetation, if you want to hear this piece real.

  • Listen to Varsi Dinorha,

    another style ...

Lola Astanova is probably in term of performer without any contest the best waouhh but her interpretation is missing lyrism - lyrism I like so much with Varsi Dinorha the best interpretation in my heart, even better than Evgeny Kissin ..

This master piece is for me like Baudelaire, le bateau ivre poetry, so much powerfull and lyric at the same time, magic combination

  • excellent performance !

  • Oh!!! Excellent, opulent!, sublime!! that's the best option to play this etude, practicing it like that, very energetic.

  • Don't hurt yourself practicing Scriabin...

  • the last part, you know , the raising the hand in mid air, behind your back, was a bit of showing off, but i enjoyed, i think i will start learning it now

  • Absolutely breathtaking

  • Classical piano blows my mind. I cant imagine how much work must go into being able to play like this.

  • An excellent performances. Forget the pointless comparison with Horowitz. It's not fair! About gestures... Lang Lang has made school.

  • this is excellent!!! and any one who has something bad to say should just shut up!!!! I think this is one of the best interpretations on youtube and is ranked with Horowitz, Kissin, luganshy and Gilels.....I'm sure those who disliked this video and those who are quite uninformed in the comments cannot even play Mary had a little lamb with both hands...

  • what a babe.

  • I think that she's let people know with these videos that young people can be great at what they wanna do too. They just have to be willing to work at it.

I wanna be as good as her one day :D

  • I am not a big fan of piano music, but this is really gripping. Combined with her great beauty she is quite arresting.

  • Finally someone who plays this magnificent Etude at 'moderato' speed!

  • @geertdehoux Zijt ge daar nu weer met uwe overbodige kommentaar..traphetaf onnozelaar!!!

  • Wow! I guess piano music can't get any cooler than this. :)

  • @Volgaman21

Do you mean cooler or hotter ? :-)

  • @geertdehoux Difficult question, she's cool and hot at the same time :D Very pleasant for ear and eyes.

  • @Volgaman21

"Cool and hot at the same time": do you think she might be 'a dangerous woman' ?!

    :-)

    Regards,

    G.N.M.D.H.

  • @geertdehoux No, i don't think so, but I'd love to find out, she'll probably have

Russian temper .... :D She plays very well, and i think her boyfriend/husband

is a lucky guy. Regards :)

  • @Volgaman21

    Hello, again.

I heard some beautiful Chopin by this attractive young woman, too.

She belongs to a very limited group of young musicians who give an INTERPRETATION of the score, instead of reproducing only 'notes'.

Did you know my number one pianist, the great and legendary Emil Gilels, HATED the expression 'Russian temper' or 'Russian passion' ?! Ask Sir Simon Rattle...

"A lucky guy": well, maybe that depends on his age, as well... :-)

    Kindest regards,

    Geert.

  • @geertdehoux Hi Geert, me too, i listened to several pieces from Lola, on her site you can order her music too. I think i'll do that. :) No, i didn't know that. I meant it only positive, in general i like Russian people much, so for me the phrase is only positive, and i absolutely don't mean to insult anyone. Regards, Theo

  • @Volgaman21

    Hello, Theo.

Well, don't worry: you're not offending me, at all!

But it seems Emil was VERY offended, when Simon Rattle mentioned "Russian passion!" for Tchaikovsky's 1rst Piano Concerto (and no doubt he meant it in a positive way, too!).

But Emil didn't have an 'easy' character, you know...

I knew his daughter Elena well: she was very kind!

Unfortunately she died of cancer, only 46 years old.

    Hope you'll enjoy Lola's music!

    Kindest regards,

    Geert.

  • sick

  • @jaksajak

    Take some medication.

  • @geertdehoux huh

  • @jaksajak

    Do you mean: "Ha" ?

  • Orgasm at 2:09

  • nobody should try to play this etude, especially women, because nobody can play it ever better than Horowitz

  • @gipsymustang I AGREE COMPLETLY HE ROCK THAT SONG

  • @pianoorganman It's not a song, stupid. Why don't you try singing it?

  • @MrPacmansFan

    Sing it upside down ?

  • @pianoorganman

Keep on rocking baby, till the night is gone ?

  • @gipsymustang

Eddy Wally plays the piano too, you know.

  • @gipsymustang

Horowitz "can" play this Etude better than anyone ?

Where is he actually playing it ?

I thought he died, several years ago...

  • nobody should try to play this etude, especially women, because nobody can play it ever better than Horowitz

  • Lola doesn't just play the piano, she attacks it, she assaults it. Her passion is incredibly intense.

  • @49kasey

Is this pretty Lola a relative of de Zwarte Lola ?

  • @geertdehoux You ask... umm... interesting questions.

  • @49kasey

    Thank you.

Once, a world-famous pianist said I told him "verrry interrresting things'!

    Regards,

    G.N.M.

  • @49kasey

Don't forget the Zwarte Lola plays the pianola!

And nobody less than the splendid pianist Sviatoslav Richter knew this, because he had a great respect for her!

    Regards,

    G.N.M.D.H.

  • I enjoyed this ! However, I enjoyed the stupid arguing btw you people, even more!

    Keep it up, it's hilarious!

  • @buddydog1956

    Keep what up ?

  • If I were a virtuoso and hand full command of the piano, I would hope to play these pieces exactly as you do. You play with perfect passion and power... I think just as these big Romantic pieces were intended to be played. Thanks so very much for posting and sharing these!!!

  • Please record theses scriabin pieces(etude op8 no12 and op42 no5), I love them so much, and even more the way you play them! I think you play them better than horowitz! Serioulsy you're so much subtler and full of nuances, in the begining of the op8 for instance, you make it sound like a pure romantic score, as if this music was composed 100 years ago : you don't play too loud the left hand to bring out the melodie played by the right hand and obtrude it while horowitz hide it behind the chords.

  • @grandprophete

I hope she can play it better than Horowitz!

    Horowitz died...

    Poor Volodia...

However, the great Bernard Lemmens said: "We'll never have such a personality like Horowitz, anymore!"

    Regards,

    Norbertus Maria.

  • Amazing interpretation from a stunning girl! If only the audio had better quality... This is one of my favorite pieces and i absolutely enjoyed it. Thank you very much!

  • @achillesk77

Do you think an "amazing interpretation by a stunning girl" is better than a "stunning performance by an amazing girl" ?

  • @geertdehoux I wouldn't call a performance stunning. I use the word for visual attractions, but thats just me, might be wrong anyway, English is not my native language. On the other hand...any way you take it is good. I really liked this interpretation. I dont think there is such thing as "Better" or "Best interpretation" at such level. Every artist is different thus different interpretations. It's all about emotion. But this one is up there for me, along with Scriabin himself, Horowitz and Kissin

  • @achillesk77

    Thanks for your answer.

I fully agree with you that most music is about emotions.

Horowitz was unique, but that doesn't mean he was the 'best ' pianist in history.

There might be lots of - mostly 'modern' - pianists who give, from a merely 'technical' view, 'better' performances than Horowitz did, but probably none of them can make piano playing as interesting and fascinating as Horowitz did.

    A cordial greeting,

    Geert Dehoux.

  • @achillesk77

I agree with you that this woman gives us an "interpretation" of the score.

Pianists like the older Michelangeli, the older Richter, Pollini, Ashkenazy and many others mostly only reproduce(d) 'the notes'.

Therefore great artists like Emil Gilels, Samson François, Alfred Cortot, Ignaz Friedman, Vladimir Horowitz, Arcadi Volodos and others make a big difference by not only reproducing notes, but by creating music.

    Cordially,

    Geert Dehoux.

  • I like your very passionate interpretation!

  • even though she is russian, she fails to interpret this piece as it was intended to be played...

  • @thesloc That is absolutely worthless critique. Are you asking her to play the piece in a fashion that is "more Russian"?

  • @doomownage94 yes, as any pianist would play with the spirit of nationalism of composers. i.e. it's hard to listen to chopin if not played with the spirit of polish nationalism during such period. same would apply to scriabin. u mad?

  • @thesloc I know that by playing the piece in a more russian style you are actually suggesting a less tense melancholic feel, but that really helps noone, especially if that comment is made about a Scriabin piece.

  • wow, barbie is actually an artist!

  • wonderful engrossing passion... not especially with this one, but on some of these Scriabin recordings the acoustics of the room and electronics muddy up a little.

  • Understand...Lola Astanova transcends critique. Her performances of these piano master pieces are totally impeccable. She IS HOT, but her virtuosity and interpretation demands the utmost respect.

  • everyone seems to attempt to play the first half of this piece far too similar, not that it is bad mind you. I have a much different take on it than most (including the composer himself!).

However, the second half of the piece was played exquisitely. I'll agree that it was too hard all around and can use some modulation and trimming, but the way it was voiced and the passion behind that voice gave something I don't hear in other recordings i have heard. bravo.

  • machine like playing..........

  • The awful sound of the recording doesn't do her ANY justice either so stop making ludicrous comments please!

  • I liked it. You crunched those chord stronger than most pianists could. This is a piece that incorporates violence, so it is a good thing to do. Awesome. Wish I had a Steinway to play on^^

  • im pianist and she is all some ur good and ur realy ho to lol atractive

  • This is Amazing I love this song! I have been playing piano for 25 years Lola Played it beautifully! @marombadoSSA The music does stay at Forte and Double Forte if you look at it! It is a heavy song! She plays with passion and is a master pianist! Lola you have an admirer in me!

  • Too heavy! Exagerated! See horowitz playing this music!

  • no one plays this like horowitz!! even when he was in his death bed....

  • no one plays this like horowitz!!

  • Horowitz is better, but she is hotter !

  • You are awesome!! Lola is a Tiger :) I wish we can hear you play in a concert hall with less echo in the room.

  • with passion, i like

  • Awesome

  • Блестящее прочтение Скрябина !

    Браво...

  • I can see she has heard Horowitz's version hundreds of times :) In a bad way :)

  • Use a metronome, you have like dunno 10 different tempo in the piece. Will help you improve alot

  • WOW.. POOOR SKRJABIN!!! THATS ALL I HAVE TO SAY... AND TOO MANY UNNECESSARY GESTURES, THIS IS NOT PIANO PLAYING... STICK TO YOUR TRANSCRIPTIONS OF PLEASE DONT STOP THE MUSIC

  • @alkanian and why dont you stick to your transcriptions of mary had a little lamb because you probably couldnt play it by ear anyway

  • @pianoeddy2525 AT LEAST MARY HAD A LITTLE LAMB WILL SOUND BETTER THAN THIS VERSION OF SCRIABIN!!! SHE BUTCHERS EVERYTHING SORRY BUT TRUE AND YOU KNOW IT! ALSO WATCH MY VIDEOS AND YOU WILL SEE I WILL PLAY CIRCLES AROUND HER... IM NOT BEING AN ASSHOLE, BUT MY EAR IS PROBABLY 1000 TIMES STRONGER THAN HERS....

  • @alkanian Lola's playing is fine. If I have neg. comments, I would email her a constructive criticism but I would not post it in YouTube for the whole world to see.

I watched your videos. I did not like any of them. So, I compared your numbers against Lola's. You joined 4-1/2 yrs ago; Lola less than 2 yrs ago. She now has 18 videos; you only have 12. Lola has 5966 subscribers; you only have 185. Lola has 1695 friends; you only have 94. The numbers speak loudly. I feel sorry for you.

  • @AncientMusicMan umm ok! first of all she plays more standard music, she can not come close to what i am playing in those videos, which most people dont even know about! Those videos have more views than they should have knowing the fact that they are non standard repertoire. I wonder why she has 1695 friends, maybe because she is an attractive girl that plays the piano???? so you are making no sense right about now, and you probably have no idea on how to play the instrument! so go get a life

  • @alkanian There are three qualities I look for in a performing artist: character, personality, and skill. Lola has all three of them. You got only one - skill. I think that's why she's got the better numbers. I will leave it at that. Let the viewers decide.

  • @alkanian You know alkanian, i'm pretty sure that IF Lola knew whatever your non-standard repertoire is, she would kick butt in playing it, including yours. You may have skill, but your repertoire is far from interesting. Let me say one thing, for you to criticize Lola in this fashion is extremely rude and uncalled for. She plays with passion (which is not seen in your videos), and interpretation. Two things you clearly do not have. I think YOU need to get a life- BECAUSE piano isn't it.

  • @PeacefulStrife Wow you really have no idea what youre talking about! You non musicians need to stop critisizing! I don't even know why I waste my time taking to idiots like you, you don't even know the repertoire I play and what it requires,so shut thr fuck up already!

  • Comment removed

  • @alkanian Well, Alkanian, i don't know why you waste your time talking to "idiots" like me, either. One thing you should know and take note on, is that you claim to have such better hearing and talent than she does, which doesn't even depend on the repertoire chosen to cover. I seriously doubt you've had the extensive rigorous training and lessons she's had in the past. It's not all dependent on repertoire dude! It's okay to be second best though, it's OKAY.

  • @PeacefulStrife you keep thinking that...post something idiot then talk! case closed!

  • WOW.. POOOR SKRJABIN!!! THATS ALL I HAVE TO SAY... AND TOO MANY UNNECESSARY GESTURES, THIS IS NOT PIANO PLAYING...

  • When criticizing music I think a lot of ppl are unaware of the sheer amount of bias and prejudice that taints their opinions. Everyone will applaud a good interpretation from an amateur, but if that same interpretation had been from a professional, it immediately becomes crap. I think Lola's appearance is making some people be overly critical, even if they aren't aware of it. Like the man on the street who plays guitar. We pass him by, even if he is good, because we haven't seen him on our TVs.

  • I am a pianist and composer. She is excellent. It is amazing to me how many untalented individuals are on here to only to "play" the critic. If you believe you can perform better, provide a link to your video "playing" music, otherwise shut up.

  • @fuzzybeeball Why should one have to play better than the performer on the video to be allowed to criticise ? You can be a terrible player but have an amazing sense for analysis.

But I grant you the fact that I doubt that most people on Youtube can't play nor can they criticise properly

    I like her interpretation btw

    I was just sayin xP

  • @fuzzybeeball I'm not able to play piano but I' able to listen and explain my preference... may be I'm wrong but my opinion is that this song is played machanicaly I heard this song played better (horowitz for example)

  • @fuzzybeeball Although I argee most commentary is actually poor - that "come perform better" is just an ad hominem, and thus, fallacious.

  • @nihil1 Precisely, that "show me you can play better" is not only fallacious but also fellatious. Personally, it would be lovely to see something from Lola that's not "practice"...her Scriabin frankly is not very convincing

  • @fuzzybeeball Well, I'm not a physicist but I know that some aren't good, I'm not a football player but I know that some could be better, same thing with politicians, philosophers, doctors. I could not be good in all those profession but if I'm good in my own I've made my duty. The silence leads to oppression. Anybody as the right to critic. Forget those thing about "if you can't do better by yourself".

  • @pierolivier111 there's a difference between thinking someone is "good" or "bad", and critiquing them. Sure, some people might suck in your opinion, but critics think further than that. im not saying you need to be better than the artist to admire the way they play. but you do need to understand what they are playing including the theory, articulations, and expression. dont come on here and tell someone who has experience not to defend the artist from pointless comments and stupid judgments

  • @classicalnut1 Maybe some comments are stupid, but I do think that most of the people who watch this video have a basis in music. I also think that you have the right to criticise when a interpretation hurts your understanding of the piece. One of the main purpose of art is to spark off reaction from the auditor. When the reaction isn't there, it is just to easy to blame the auditor's ignorance. People aren't all equal on the piano, but they are all equal in their ability to get touch.

  • @classicalnut1 And when I was saying good or bad, it's was just a figure. Don't bring your pedantry to the point of telling me that critic is more.

  • @fuzzybeeball

Do you have links of your own?

  • @fuzzybeeball Leaving aside any thing having to do with this particular video, that is a pretty stupid comment. Criticism is a craft in itself. Just as there are good performers and bad performers, there are good critics and bad critics. But it isn't necessary for one to have mastered the craft 'such as playing the piano' to be able to be a critic of it. Are we to never listen to the opinion of a film critic simply because they themselves never have made a movie? That is absurd.

  • @TomServo916 There is a huge difference between an opinion and a critic. A critic is an expertise in the field and usually has extensive training or knowledge in the subject, and is therefore capable of making a valid critique. Most of the comments on here, including your own, are opinions. Opinions are usually made by individuals, such as yourself, at random and with little to no foundation to base them on.

  • @fuzzybeeball The only opinion here made with no foundation on this entire video is made by you. Considering that you are the only one on here apparently who has the appropriate qualifications (according to yourself), you apparently are the only one here who is allowed to have a valid opinion.

Opinions at random? You're on Youtube you idiot. Its not so random if someone watches a video, then comments on it in the random section.

  • @TomServo916 anybody can share their opinion on a movie. You are comparing oranges to apples. This is not a movie, this is classical music.

  • Comment removed

  • 1:15 ... bleach!!!

  • attempting to scale the heroic heights. some moments of loss of control, but a stirring attempt.

  • @ PeacefulStrife look at the Freddan's comment or Kentodragon's comment. She is overacting...

the way she plays the octaves at the end isn't very nice in my opinion...

the interpretation of horowitz...that's great... or the playing of the master himself...

  • 2:08 Was that really necessary. In my opinion I think that's just ridiculous. Whatever, it's her preference of playing...

  • I've always followed the horowitz version when iv played this one but i like your interpretation

  • Absolutely beautifully played. This etude is all about emotion and a pianist who plays as Lola and feels as strongly and deeply as she does has earned the right to show her feelings also through body language or in any other way, for that matter.

  • this is the worst interpretation of this piece i've heard on youtube

  • @Boo4447 Maybe it's the lighting-

  • its fucking sexy

  • Your interpretation of this piece is amazing in the most inexplicable way. I'm am not only inspired by your work, but fixated by your talent. You havean amazing gift and i cannot wait to see what more you will do.

  • Hello Lola,

You obviously have an amazing technique. I am thrilled that you accentuated the harmonical texture at 1:02 and on 1:13 as in the original Scriabin recording(this is the main thing I miss in the Horrowitz recordings btw) but i'd stress it less long though.

I think it would be even better if you play your rhyttmic accents/changes more subtle and continuous cause it takes the drive out of the piece otherwise.

    Great job nevertheless

  • Comment removed

  • She's overacting. There is no practical reason for gestures like this. Look at Horowitz or Bolet..... It's waaay better with almost no movement.

  • @Freddran ahh shuddup, she likes to move and feel the music when playing, shes not doing it for YOU or me, shes doing it because she wants to, thats what music is about douche

  • @Freddran Please see top rated comment. It is more than practical. It is essential, necessary even. You must express yourself as you see fit.

  • Comment removed

  • holy shit at 2:08... that's energy.

and I'm pretty sure she came at the end of the piece.

  • She is seriously one of the most talented in MY generation that I've seen!

And she will only mature and get better and even more musical as time goes on :)

I look forward to keeping an eye on this one! ;)

  • OMG I Love you!!! Love your interpretation ...amazing!

  • Another wow from a fellow artist. I don't play piano but appreciate her intensity and beauty of art and the discipline. Who takes the video for her? As much as her music is amazing, her video (and audio) sometimes lack. However, don't let that stop you from sharing.

    God bless.

  • a little bit faster seems to be necessary.

  • Very intense! A stellar performance!

  • Znakomita kreacja Pani Loli ale nagranie nie. Brak czegoś w nim, selektywności brzmienia na przykład

  • Too soft, lost the subtle feelings of tragedy and living on the edge of ones near end.

It's a good performance but it just doesn't cry out like the way Horowitz plays it.

  • @EuphoricDan Sorry did you wanted to say something? Your comment is blank.

  • It's like the WWF for piano!

  • OMG Shes AWESOME!!!

  • YOU SOUND !!!!!!!!!!! VERY VERY SOUND !!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • if she makes love with same feelings it is fantastic

  • great performance i like it

  • Interesting interpretation. That's a pain the pianist woman is ugly. But otherwise, good stuff.

  • Scriabin was such a time bender. You do a superb job playing him. What passion!

  • Why can't you be my neighbor, instead of the fat balding guy who plays the bongos...

  • MMmmmmmm, yummy
