Thank you so much for this. I've been taking shots for 17 years, and thinking about going on the pump. Talking to my doctor tomorrow. This helps so much.
I'm also debating whether to get the medtronic one or the animas Ping, for the medtronic the glucose monitor was what attracted me however its 50$ for one that has to be replaced every 3 days sort of turned me off. Though I like that technology. I love that ping has a remote which med doesnt but I'm still on teh fence - I'm sort of leaning towards Animas Ping. My doctor uses the medtronic but he said its a personal choice, you have to make it - thanks for your info though :D appreciated !
I enjoy your videos. If Animas comes out with a CGM sensor just like Medtronic would you go back to the Animas or would you stay with Medtronic? Thanks!
Are you thinking about switching when the dexcom ping hybrid comes out in the US? Last I heard they were talking about putting it out at the start of the new year.
Thank you for this info. I am a Type II Diabetic and my doctor has asked me if I have considered pumps later on, and I have not yet because it was just recently that I had to begin meds for my diabetes. When I reach the point of needing shots is when I consider pumps b/c I am on Medicaid which doesn't give you a lot of options.
Nice comparison. I chose the Minimed 723 with the CGM. My only quibble is the length of the CGM needle. Also, it takes about a day and a half to get an accurate reading on the CGM. Otherwise, it's really good.
