Come Back!! I listened to your cover of Vito's ordination song over a year and a half ago and still visit your channel periodically to this day to listen to your covers/originals. I've tried to spread the word as much as a can, let's just say you have a lot of fans in Baltimore already! Hope all is well and that your exceptional talent has gotten you somewhere.
@MagicalSuburbs I'm sorry I haven't uploaded any videos lately. I've been busy graduating from college and working on a musical I'm writing which is being produced later this year. I have, however, a new webpage, and you can download or stream my latest album: justinfriello.bandcamp.com. Tell everyone in Baltimore I'll be back very soon!
This is a great cover! It's so hard to do Sufjan Stevens justice. Your voice is perfect for this. As for another user's comment, I think you look more like the author Jonathan Safran Foer, but that's just me! Keep up the great work!
It's always interesting to hear who people think I look like. At my live shows someone always calls out "McLovin!" I'm used to it by now. Thanks for the comment!
Just wow. I usually don't post comments but after I saw my fav sufjan song covered so well I just had to. Love your rendition. Also thanks for posting the tab. Hope you make it big soon man great talent.
I would love to see you play a variation of "predatory wasp of the palisades", although personally I'm afraid of trying to imitate sufjan's falsettos because for me they always turn out really goofy. by the way, in this cover of "vito's", do you have a capo on 9th?
That song is my favorite of his. The problem is that you really do need to do that song as an ensemble because of how many important instrumental parts there are. I wouldn't be able to do a solo version, but I've been thinking about putting together a studio version with me playing multiple instruments. And yes, capo 9. The tabs are: (3200xx) (xx0231) (x3201x) (x2403x) The only changes to that are in the chorus (where all the strings are used) and the end where the third chord is (x532xx).
I have seen many many many sufjan covers, and this is by far, no kidding, the best of them. I love the way you sing " there's a design", you really release a beauty in this song I had noticed before. I hope to see many more things from you. by the way, has anyone told you that you look like jason schwartzman? just sayin
Wow. Thank you so much. I really appreciate all of that. This is definitely one of his best songs lyrically, and I'm all about the lyrics (as is evident in my originals, too). No, I've never heard Jason Schwartzman before. I'm gotten Ben Stein and Sean Lennon, though.
