Her tone does remind me of christina from 1999-2001 with a better technique. Her F5 and E5's were great despite her sounding a bit squeezed at times. Definately one of the best voices in christian msic.
Hmm, are you sure? I only heard an F6 in the studio version of "You Lift Me Up"...I did hear a slight peak at G6 on the last one too, but it was more o an F#6, no?
You're right...the studio F6 goes up very briefly to F#6, and the live F#6 goes up very briefly to G6. She was actually sick in that live performance of "You Lift Me Up" where she hit the F#6/G6, so I'm sure she can go higher.
Actually singing with a sore throat usually aids top whistle notes, like in the live You Lift Me Up performance. Coz the chords will be swollen and so can close tighter and differently. Making those whistle notes harder to do when you're well.
That applies to "whistles" that are actually executed in WHISTLE REGISTER, though. Rachael's, like many other people's, sounds more like a falsetto that she is pushing into the whistle RANGE. do you know what I mean?
kind of, but i know from my own voice that at certain stages of being ill, having inflamed vocal chords, i can reach the very notes that Rachael is singing in this example much easier. so it's not just pure whistle that's affected, what you're calling falsetto can also very much affected.
Oh, really? I always thought that head voice was more difficult to access when you're sick, whether it's a connected head tone or disconnected (falsetto-like)....but I've definitely noticed that whistle register is easier when you're sick...sometimes you can just breathe, and you wind up hitting a whistle note lol. That's also the case with someone who has vocal nodules, like Mariah...

I love that you did a vid of her range. I was wondering if anyone did one. You should do one of her studio stuff! =)

where she did C6 and F#6 live? what is that songs? I love her... her voices sounds like a mix of Christina and Britney lololol
You know something about Stace Orrico range or Jacy Velazquez?
kouldeliee 2 years ago
To me, she sounds like Jessica with a better vocal technique.
F#6 live was in a live performance of "You Lift Me Up"....the C6 was from "Ave Maria."
Not sure about Stacie's range or Jacy's. Stacie has a very similar tone to Rachael, though.

Oh thanks...

Jacy many times sounds like Shakira with a better technique too...
C6 is in Ave Maria... very singular, a gospel singer... doing Ave Maria?

Yeah I always thought Rachael sounded like Stacie

The studio version of the last song was also an F#6. And she briefly touches a G6 on the very last note.
