Este señor Vaness solo puede ser escuchado por conocedores, no cualquiera disfruta la calidad... mas bien ni estan acostumbrados a ella, todos se iban por YMCA de los aldeanos .... bien por esta.
WOOOOOW! Been lookin' for this cut for years! I had begun to think I just imagined it's existence. Classic "Euro-Funk" disco.Prelude was a monster dance label back in the day.Thanx for posting.
@alvinmarin -Tru dat, sir, but I was going to ALL the clubs in the '70's, and lotsa music was ONLY played in the gay clubs. I'm sure no offense was intended.
hit me up, lets talk about n.y.c. records pools!!!!!!!! i was in, inter-metro pool, the director was, Dwyane dixon, damn you took me back. D.J Jonathan Lyons, Newark, N.J.
.....My baby laughs when I get my tired.... It is my destiny to triumph magnificently, when I finally obtain this artist's hits on CD. I will with determination fulfill this quest, untill then, it remains a "Haunting Melody"........DiscoLoveChild in Miami Beach
I've stilll got the album! I love it !! Just wanted to say : "my baby laughs when I get much higher..",in re: to the lyric you posted. Take care,n keep on dancin'....
This is one of the masterpieces of that era along with "Sentimentally it's You". I was there and I remember. I'm still here and these two jams are such a beloved part of me. Does anyone know anything at all about Theo Vaness?
Hola soy Sandra de Buenos Aires y amo este tema!! Hace muchísimo tiempo que andaba buscándolo!! Se podrá comprar el long play en algún lado?? De todos modos, Súper agradecida.
Now were talkin! This is Disco 'to shame' the Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty Fans (of the late 70s); you know the rock purist who plumited the top 40 in late 79 (almost disco free) to hear REALLY lousy new 79' songs by Bob Dillian and the like. Damnit; well 1980 got better on the top 40 with a little more Disco; but that redneck rocker backlash truly dampered creativity and expression back then. It's TRULY freakin sick to think about (what coulda been).
I just love the music. I am not gay have nothing against those who are but I have a problem with "gay" music or "redneck" music or "biker" music the sheep will follow and be untrue to themselves as most humans are to scared to like what they like...its just good music, enough with the labels okay. Cumon baby Boomers practice what you preach..nuff said.
If you live in the L.A. area, disco is still very much alive! Check out BackToDisco website and get all the info on the upcoming parties! The crowd there is in the 40's to 50's age range - we just love disco! Many attendees were regulars at the clubs back in the 70's and 80's - Circus, Michaels, Ginos, etc
Been watching (listening to) your post of this song so much that I finally went to eBay and bought the album. Just couldn't get this song out of my head. (actually the whole album is amazing) Thanks!!
That's funny because the same thing happened tom me last summer. I couldn't get this song out of my head and got the LP on ebay. I used to DJ back in the early 80's and had a lot of my vinyl stolen. This was one of them and such a great LP, most anything on the Prelude label.
I wish this LP would be released on CD, but I guess the record company (or whoever owns the masters these days) assumes there's not much of a market for seventies disco on CD. Sigh....
They don't what they're missing. Maybe a compilation with Prelude label would be cool. Glad I got to experience this music first hand, being a disco freak in the late 70's early 80's from high school/college.
Prelude, (The label that marketed the recording)have since went out of business as well as the distibutor, Quality. if you have Soulseek, a file sharing program, the LP can be downloaded
shame but this funky tune good message theo vannes Pelude Records was the joint but their down fall they mainly put 12 inches singles I got this album in my basement too lazy go down there took 10 years to put down there
good dam song good guitar riffs of the seventies chikka chikka chikka wah love this song a classic for sure.......
