  • If this is just lines on a 2D paper, the lines are equal length.

If this is viewed as a 3D world projected to a 2D image, the actual lines in the 3D-world are not equal length.

Just as a child in the foreground of a picture is not taller than an adult in the background, just because the viewing angle is larger.

  • people!! Enough of the rude comments! The maker of this video took the time too make this video for YOUR intertament! So Shut up would you! Thumbs up if you agree! Oh btw nice video! Very cool!

  • .....mindfreak

  • holy shit

  • i got it!!! it has the same length in the paper ruler but if you will look the two line of houses are not straight

  • wow yall are dumbfucks one lines more slanted than the other look at the darken lines

  • actually, both line is the same. but he make the second line more oblique

  • mind fuck

  • Criss Angel...

  • is the way you slant the lines

  • what sorcery is this?

  • This is stupid.

  • look at the thick lines separately in your mind.... it's easier to imagine then.

  • NO THAT'S MAGIC!

  • they're just angled different :O

  • How did they do that ...... they look so diffrent.

  • whats the principle ??

  • 2 lines with different angles

  • mind f*ck!!

  • This is becouse they're going different directions...

  • What kind of illusion is that? How is that supposed to "blow my mind".

It's just different angle on both lines, what's so interesting here?

  • @Lerenthial that suppose to blow your mind because you will see 2 line that's not the same size and he make it the same by measuring

  • @idiotAREstupid They are the same size that's the thing oO

  • @Lerenthial if you only look you see the line D-C is longer.

  • @Lerenthial i mean shorter >.O

  • @Lerenthial Line A-B looks longer than C-D but its actually not, and He never said it was "Mind Blowing"

  • @Lerenthial i think this video is directed towards stoners

  • @Lerenthial Where does it say it's gonna "blow your mind"?

  • @Lerenthial It's pretty impressive if you ask me. The "illusion" is that they (the lines parallel to the houses) both look like they're are the same length just because they are at different angles. It's very impressive and it shows creativity which emits from creative minds. Your mind is not one of them I see, at least not one that can appreciate it.

  • believe it or not? well i choose not to believe!

  • perspectiva :)

  • i like how the brain can be tricked!!!!this is why you should never beleive what you see

  • @TrollingPatrolling unless its tits, always believe in the tits.

  • @TrollingPatrolling Except you should believe a lot of what you see. The only reason this is true is because it's in 2D. It's a 2D projection. Had you seen these houses in real life with proper sizes, the 3D line A to B would be longer.

  • Teorema de Thales!

  • thats my dik size...:///

  • @22MRMafia Super small.

  • At least your illusion doesn't have a "screamer''

  • So for one line 1 inch represent X meters and for the other 1 inch represent Y meters. This is not an optical illusion this is correct perspective and geometrical projection.

  • HHAAAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX!!!!!!!!!!

  • Right, this is the type of one-point perspective that every illustrator and architect designer has to know in order to do their jobs decently. :-\

  • THE ANGLES ARE DIFFERENT

  • perspective DOH!

  • its normal, where is the probléme!!!

  • STOP MESSING WITH MY HEAAAAAD

  • Dude you just raped my mind :0

  • EXACT the same? i dont think so...

  • BULLSQUIRE!

  • banał jeden budynek jest pod wiekszym skosem

  • @dudilol14 Istny geniusz :D.

  • Well I've just though maybe they are the same size. And they are, if you take off buildings in mind :D. Stupid perspective sense :D.

  • and?

  • Yeah, i know.. perspective sucks.

  • well said, 2.5" Inches....thats better then centimeters.....lol

  • i figured it out the line c - d is on a slant a tiny bit

  • This is what you call the horizon line. And also, the point.

  • 2.5 is the same size of your dick

  • @mike02601 well, if ur talkin bout metres that is ;)

  • Q FACIL PONEN UNA REGLA VIEN EXTENDIDA Y OTRA MAS FRONTAL DE LA MISMA MEDIDA ESO ES :)

  • wth..this is not illusion..this is really perspective.....so it cant make me surprised

  • stop messing with my brain

  • you have great voice ! :D:D

  • buildings is the key of illusion here, look only at lines and remember that diagonale is longer than straight line :)

  • Very good optical illusion, I will use this to psych out my amigo who is simple minded.

  • is the music from zelda??

  • your boner is 2,5 inches long

  • whts so surprising?????

  • thats not an illusion

  • All it is is the way they are both facing. Sense one is facing mostly straight and the other mostly diagonal your brain will think one is shorter and longer than the other even if you know they are the same length.

  • I noticed the distance between the two :P

  • it's very easy!!!

  • i know how that makes sense! one is closer to vertical while the other is closer to horizontal! sorta like: |\ but less straight

  • I call HAX!

  • A-C is longer :D

  • Think of it this way.. if you were to actually measure the houses (3 dimensionally), the actual distance from A-B would certainly be longer, but it's like looking down a broom handle. It looks shorter than it actually is. Or like driving down a street versus an aerial view of the road. That's why the line we see 2 dimensionally is smaller, and the same as the 8 houses on the right that are viewed from the side. That's how most of these illusions work.

  • The line from A to B looks longer....

    and thats all matters.

  • isnt it because of the degrees its turned?

  • I actually measured it and the right one was 6 cm and the left 5 :D

  • Im sure we have learnt Pydagorus Theorm before

  • Put your finers on point B and A then use B as a pivot and watch your finger trace a "u" like line. Moving right and sloping upwards to meet point C. Think of it like that :S

  • Think of it like this. Houses D-C are not just angled to the right. They are in fact, angled to the right and then moved upwards and are shorter than the houses on B-A. Your brain realizes if the D-C line were to be pulled across like the parralel lines suggest line B-A would in fact be longer. It knows in reality line D-C would only be the same length if you pulled it across and then angled it down. I don't know if I have explained it well enough but try this.

  • You mindraped me ima sue you for that...

  • Easy: both lines are at different angles.

  • the moment i see an illusion like this, i know it's gonna be a 'Which line is longer? In fact they're both the same length' kind of illusion

  • So.

  • The art of art.

  • This one's stupid, sorry.

  • I said C to D because I thought it was some kind of mind game…

    I was still wrong...

  • ITS COS THYR AT A DIFFERANT ANGLE I FOUND THAT OUT AND IM TWELVE

  • @Namielusy oh really???:D:D:D

  • I need Panadol

  • if you would just stand in the middle of these rows of houses, no prob ^^

  • i love you

  • like somebody's penis, hohou.

  • So glad I took art in Highschool. the second I saw the picture I knew they were the same length considering the 2point perspective if I remember..Been a long time aha

  • <3 your vids sooo much

  • What the ****ing s***. How did u do that cr**

  • one angle is at around 20 degrees and the other is at 30-35

  • The angle of the lines are different, yet the same distance, By the way, awesome video, your awesome! Do you make these up or do you just copy this from other people?

  • @xweert111 Thanks for the comment. Some of my illusions are inspired by things I see on the internet but I make them up too. If I do see something on the internet that blows my mind, I try to put my own unique twist on it and make a creative video to blow other people's minds too. Pay it forward, ya know?

  • yeah its just about the angle at which the huouses are drawn

  • Of course non of these lines are as long as my thick black* line

    *May not be black

  • I have watched some videos from you and so far its almost just simple drawings?

  • and this is why i subbed u

  • its perspective, and all job doing the diffrent corners, its no ilusion its normal :/

  • @jaggggy it is an illusion because dc looks so much smaller than ab

  • i know how this was done the c d one is rotated more

  • wow! that is cool!

  • same size differ in angle.

  • Our eyes see easiest in vertical and horizontal lines, both of theses lines are neither vertical, nor horizontal. this is what causes most of the "miss conception" along with the manipulation of the actual building sizes... Fun!! Hay guys, I'm a artist, check out my sculptures? ~~Tom

  • Real life Glitch

  • the angle og the line make it looks short

  • Is that drawing your design? Cz i've seen that exact drawing in my psychology class :D

  • 29 people were looking for Justin Beiber optical illusions.

  • love this vids :D just got a new sub :{D

  • and HOW do you think these won't KILL my brain :D

  • 26 people still don't get it.

  • it was easy to figure that the lines were not in same angle

  • The angle the lines differently to get this one to happen. I learned this Illusion/trick in art class. Very cool, you are kind of teaching people.

  • @KosmicD Thanks for the positive feedback...much appreciated.

  • @greeenpro2009 The houses make our eyes see diffrent lengths.

  • Befor I Watch,THEY ARE BOTH THE SAME!

  • @abdallahpr2 hey, i appreciate you, way to go

  • Cant..resist...pressing subscribe AHHGGGG ur vids are soo good 10000/10

  • @Pr0rk3r Thanks! I just uploaded a brand new one called 'Shady Ovals Optical Illusion'. Check it out if you want to.

  • @greeenpro2009 it's pretty obvious

the difference is the way their angled

  • Wow! That's the most awesome optical illusion I've ever seen! Do you have any link for printing?

  • @makingabang Not at the moment. I am working on a website idea right now that will have many of my illusions available for free printing though. So many people ask for links to print, so might as well have one central website for that. Thanks for the comment! Check my channel soon for details on the website.

  • @greeenpro2009 Sure thing, and great going! =D

  • @makingabang Thanks for the support. You're awesome.

  • If you ignore the houses and just look at the AB and DC lines, you will see they are the same lenth.

  • i think you moved line cd to the right so it can look like line ab longer then line cd

  • HaHA I measured the angles relative to the bottom of the video and used tri-functions to calculated which was longer!!!!!!! before you showed me!!!!

  • its just a bit more to the side ... :S

  • Wow, amazing :D I'm watching all your videos ^^

  • i know how it works and im 10, a to b is a little sqint but c to d is spint by far

  • so what? :S

  • C to D is just a little more horizontal.

  • cover the houses with your hands, then its obvious they're the same length.

  • considering it's an "illusion" I'll say they are the same length...

  • O_O master of illusions XD

  • welcome to the world of optical illusions

    i love em

  • coool

  • My eyes is lying to me then.

  • camera engle

  • lol this is easy.

  • Check the angle and not the bangle, dangle, fangle, gangl, jangle, langill, mangle, nangle, pangle, spangle, stangl, stangle, strangle, tangle, wangle, wrangell, wrangle

  • @wesiem1993 lol?

  • Dude you are the best! But please, can you upload a paper copy of all these so we can all download it? And btw I don't think I'm the only 1 that wants that :D

    Great work :)

  • WHAT? HOW????!!!

  • dang i got the illusion right away so it wasnt as fun trying to guess how its done

  • How!?? Please tell me!!

  • @CitronKarameller One is at a larger angle

  • wat a shit...its obuse

  • this is alright. not THE BEST optical illusion, but at least the video delivers what it says in the title. which is better than half the videos on utube now!

  • WOW!!!

  • its different angle

  • The real trick is, the two houses are put at different angles to trick you...

  • C to D looks shorter because it's in a different position

  • Awesome O_O whoa

  • But you're measuring them in 2 dimensions. If you were to actually plot this in 3 dimensions the first line would be longer.

  • that's not an optical illusion that's thales!

  • i love your videos!!

  • the angles of the lines were not the same

  • You are the best !!! i watched all your videos and i subscribed to you with all my accounts which is only this one :D Keep up the GOOD WORK!!! *thumbs up x100*

  • @ClanDragonx Haha...Thanks!!!

  • I was like. This must be a trick! D-C is the longest. But you tricked me!

  • WOOT!!!

  • I said same size :P

  • its simple line A and B are more straighter than C and D, C and D are angled to the right making it seem shorter than A and B

  • look up crazy ass shit 0101 its fuckin crazy

  • Impressive work dude. It is cool to see how our perception of perspective changes the lenght of the lines

  • thanks for the feedback

  • Вы уже совсем охуели, блядь!

  • nah, I guessed c - d, but only because this was an illusion video :P

  • what was that about lol HAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • will do Thx.

  • Greetings from Phx, Arizona

where its been raining all day! :(

First of all let me say

    nice voice greeenpro2009.. :)

got my ruler out ...and yup they are the same size, cool.

  • Raining all day in Phx? Wow.

Thanks for the kind words. Try to stay dry :)

  • LOL. I understand how it works.. in my mind I just made the houses disappear.. and the lines are exactly the same in length

  • well the trick is that both of the houses are just placed at different angles
