The electric cars of nowadays still suck, we should be a lot more advanced in that...
Where's the nano-batteries when we need them.
Also we could already have a electric car with autonomy for ~1000 km and that would charge in like 30min. or so, and that could easily maintain a speed of 120km/h
@guily6669 Where's the time travel when we need it? We could find out all the secrets of the universe and dramatically advance to become a super civilization. Seriously, you're talking like there's an old useless technology for microscopic high capacity batteries, just nobody realized that we should try putting them into an electric car.
@iLoveEatingPie Well I have seen the Nano batteries for years, and it was supposed to be sold at 2006 or 2008 can't remember, so Why in 2011 we still don't use them... Answer: Because they still want to make a lot of money with current battery technologies.
Just like the laser TV, supposed to be sold at 2008, And I'm still waiting 4 It... And I'm tired of my LG LED TV, which is a Bull-shit since they make u think pixels are really made of leds, but it's a normal LCD with just leds as backlight
@guily6669 Seen where, exactly? I've heard of such technologies being developed, but as with most new technologies seen in the news, they either are forgotten or we see them in action many years later, after the new technology is applied. You sound like some conspiracy theorist, developing a technology is long and boring work, just because you have heard about scientists finding a new way to make batteries, it doesn't mean you'll be able to buy a car with those included the next day.
@iLoveEatingPie I think I first saw it ages ago on the wiki, but can't find the original anymore...
Anyway I only find the nano-Lipos, can't find the one I was looking for. But still even the nano batteries I only found to purchase for RC planes. I don't know why doesn't every one use them...
@guily6669 On the wiki? Seriously? That's what I've been talking about, you're supposed to have a real product if you want to use it, not just the concept which may or not work in real life. Just because small batteries are used in RC cars, there's a reason we can't just throw away the 150 year old lead-acid batteries and put in a couple of phone batteries. While these have a large capacity/weight ratio, they don't support high current flow, something that is necessary to move such weight.
@iLoveEatingPie Nahhh. Actually the Nano-Lipo, have a lot more capacity, and a bigger discharge, and more cycles...
And no Actually RC planes are monsters to drain batteries, there are batteries with more than 1KG that cost more than 500€ and get drained in 10 minutes... (4 Big RC planes). I have a 1.6 meters wing span plane...
But the original nano-batteries (not based on lipo) that I saw were even better...
@guily6669 Nano-lipo? I think you're talking about Lithium Polymer batteries, and they are currently used in electric vehicles. Not sure what nano batteries you are talking about that are currently manufactured. Even if electric car manufacturers have the technology to apply higher capacity batteries, they simply won't jump right to them, they'll make a smooth transition over the years to sustain innovation and maximize profits.
nano-tech lithium polymer batteries are built with an LiCo nano-technology substrate complex greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance.
In short; less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery. It means a straighter, longer curve...
@guily6669 From what I can find this nanotech of yours is just a model of RC batteries made by Turnigy, I really doubt they're that special. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if batteries used in electric automobiles are much more efficient than that, as they're manufactured by more serious companies than RC toy and accessory producers, just they don't advertise like that as their products are of no use to individuals. So point stays the same, everything is fine as it is.
@iLoveEatingPie And where they sell them for RC, there are normal Lipo's batteries, and those Nano lipo's...
But then again, that's not even close to the first technology I was talking about. I can't seem to see it anymore, I have no idea if it was made with carbon or some other crap...
@johnnynarf because that would be magic. Energy are loss in other forms as heat, no one still have discovered a perfect cycle of energy, where every Kw or Nw is always recycled...
@Nezzizzle Electricity is cheaper than gas per mile and electric motors are a lot more efficient than Internal combustion engines 75% to 90% vs 18 to 20%.Energy density of the batteries is vastly poor compared to gasoline about 50 to 75 times less.Main disadvantage of electric cars or even gasoline powered cars is their huge wasted mass that has to be carried (weight of the vehicle).Electric powered vehicles less than 400 pounds are very efficient like an electric scooter,e bike or e aircraft
@Nezzizzle Continued The less the mass of the vehicle as compared to the weight of the driver, passengers, cargo the more energy efficient it is.Hence electric motor powered bicycles are highly efficient getting from one location to another.Driving a car with just a single occupant is extremely wasteful.
The only advantage an electric car has is that electricity is cheaper. However the batteries and their replacement costs mostly nullify that advantage.
Joe Biden claimed that the $862 Billion failed stimulus ($400 remains unspent) “created or saved” 750,000 jobs. Economists don’t recognize jobs saved, and the jobs saved may have been keep local agencies afloat. When the money ran out, the people lost their jobs. man their probably wont be full electric cars, by the time people will be switching towards the M400 skycars and sh*T that already exist, it just needs to be mass produced.... XD
@liltstan in order to do that your alternator has to be 100% efficient returning 100% of the power that the motor puts out, which as far as i know is completely impossible as there is always energy lost due to heat in an alternator!
50.000V??? Then your car would start to be like an electrical storm...
It's 50.000W correct said... The voltage is relatively low and most cases not lethal except running a higher voltage 3 phase motor.... where Volts does matter...
Most probably these cars run on 500 - 600V three phase motors.... but there are other running as low as 24 - 36V....
Maybe... and I say... maybe.... I was talking about the 24 -36V onces....
It's most probable... that most electric cars run on these voltages (I cancel part of my first post) as the rely on other things for such high power outputs....
this was a poor demonstration im sorry to say there was no actual technical demonstration of how the electric motor comes into play,is there one per wheel or is it a single one with a diff,
yeah there is no such thing as global warming. thats why they changed the name to climet change because the earth has been doing the same thing for thousands and thousands of years. ice ages and drouts. this is no different.
There are flaws with lead-acid batteries. They are extremely heavy, dont like being recharged and dangerous to the environment. Lithium ion or NiMH would work best
@jackiechan511 well of coarse! in all reality, you can make an electric car charge itself! just get good lithium baterys like you said, and some how hook an altinator or 2 up to it. hook it up to a pully or a gear on the engine, or hook them up to the wheels that have no drive power and boom! an electric car that recharges itself! but they wont do that.. cause its eather pay for gas or have sky rocketed power bills.. eather way, you cant escape from paying for engergy... :/
@hartattack940 WTF haven't you heard of the laws of thermodynamics? I'm sorry, but what you are saying is making m crack up. You know there is this thing called FRICTION, alternators are not 100% efficient, neither are batteries. Jeez you are a dumbass.
@mikitymike yeah but it will work for a good wile! plus all macanical and electrical parts wear out eventuly! and plus, if the atinator dose break, then the car will runn off the batterys like it originaly dose anyway! and a single car battery can run the engine enough to get you home if your alt gose.. so if it went in an electric car, it'll run just like this one dose.. strait off the batery!
@hartattack940 you still do not understand. It will last LONGER without an alternator. You can't make energy come from nothing. By putting in an alternator, you are taking energy from the battery that could have been used to move the car and you are changing it to useless heat. And learn how to spell.
@mikitymike not realy.. a battery lasts longer if you run it untill its absolutly dead.. and thats impossible to do anyway unless you wanna push the car home..
hahaha! i hope thats not what they teach you in america
petroleum is distilled from crude oil, around 70 degrees (celcius)
so is diesel, or as they say in america, deacel oil or distillate, so is kero, and so are many oils, lubricantstheres also paraffin and asphalt and LPG , these all come from crude oil
That's incorrect. Petroleum IS crude oil. And obviously, many different fuels come from crude oil, which by the way, are called PETROLEUM PRODUCTS because they are derived from PETROLEUM which is the same as CRUDE OIL. Don't confuse Petrol (the nickname for gasoline in many countries) with Petroleum, because they are two different things.
You don't need to get so upset over petroleum, I never initiated any personal flaming, and you shouldn't have to either.
I never said bitumen is gasoline. I never said ANY petroleum product except gasoline was gasoline.
Petrol, Benzine, Gasoline, whatever you want to call it, it's the same thing. All words are made up, and these are no different when they were made up in late 1800s.
If you want me to look this up, then fine, here we go.
Let's start out with some definitions of Petroleum from various dictionaries
Dictionary online - ". . .occurring naturally in various parts of the world and commonly obtained by drilling: used in a natural or refined state as fuel, or separated by distillation into gasoline, naphtha, benzene, kerosene, paraffin, etc."
Oxford English Dictionary -"a hydrocarbon oil found in rock strata and extracted and refined to produce fuels including petrol, paraffin, and diesel oil; oil."
Merriam-Webster - "an oily flammable bituminous liquid. . .is a complex mixture of hydrocarbons with small amounts of other substances, and is prepared for use as gasoline, naphtha, or other products by various refining processes"
Now some websites
Petroleum(UK)- "Petroleum in its natural form when first collected is usually named crude oil. . .For several decades now the crude oil or petroleum industry. . ."
Wikipedia - "Petroleum (L. petroleum, from Greek pet???a???, lit. "rock oil") or crude oil is a naturally occurring, flammable liquid. . ."
Answers - ". . .mixture of gaseous, liquid, and solid hydrocarbons that occurs naturally beneath the earth's surface, can be separated into fractions including natural gas, gasoline, naphtha, kerosene, fuel and lubricating oils, paraffin wax, and asphalt and is used as raw material for a wide variety of derivative products."
Petroleum(US?) - "Petroleum (from Greek petra rock and elaion oil or Latin oleum oil ) or crude oil is a black, dark brown or greenish liquid found in porous rock formations in the earth. The American Petroleum Institute, in its Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards (MPMS), defines it as "a substance, generally liquid, occurring naturally in the earth and composed mainly of mixtures of chemical compounds of carbon and hydrogen with or without other nonmetallic. . ."
u dumb son of bitch we all have our own words, u have petrol, latin america has petrolio, here we have gasoline, why the fuck u become so insultive shit face.
wait u dumbass u are telling us off when we have more oil companies here in the u.s than any part of the world, man stop this america hate, just imagine what the world would bewith out it!
hmm there has to be lubrication in there right?¿ cause supposly every movable metal part in a car must be lubricated right?¿ electricty cant do it all..same goes to the steering system
200 years from now, little kids will ask their parents why the accelerator is called the 'gas pedal' as they unplug the charger from the garage wall so they can drive to school.
I love how people think electric cars are our solution to lowering greenhouse gases. Sure it makes the roads cleaner but it increases the demand for electricity and as far as I know that's still mainly produced by coal. So if the demand for gasoline goes down the demand for coal rises.
If you think about it all you are doing is getting rid of one source of pollution and drastically increasing another.
On top of that you have the batteries, which today are normally lead-acid. These weigh a ton, and if you throw them away (which usually they die after about a year) its horrible..
However, with research and time, batteries as well as electrical principles in general such as hydrogen cars I see potential in... Just right now we definitely need to find something that doesn't kill everything, even down the road.
When electricity is produced in mass )like in a power plant) it's more efficient than singular engines working for themselves. This is mainly through heat loss which is usually handled in smarter ways at power plants. Also electricity is becoming greener though you are right in saying there are coal power plants - nuclear is coming into it's own; if the American hysterics would let it. Nuclear has a better safety record in America than coal.
"The Controller can produce 50,000 watts"... The controller does not 'produce' anything. And how does that have anything to do with the high voltage stickers?
Power comes from different sources. It helps to have an electric car, but its not emission free. even Energy that comes from a solar panel is not "emission free". It takes a lot of "energy" to make a solar panel. I wish there were more electric cars out there available to the public.
Isnt the carbon footprint for building an electric car/battery much much higher than an SUV that is run for 300,000 miles? I heard thats what it is, but I wouldn't know.
most off the cars engine is protected against water ( u can drive it when it rains, dont u ? :P ) so it doesnt do mutch damage, u can u se bodykits because u only affect the appearance off the car and not its performance, but no turbos ( because it doesnt run on gas, turbos are only usefull for gas powered engines), and they run preety mutch as fast as your everyday family car because they dont produce as mutch horse power ( u will need a mutch bigger power source for sutch an engine )
for short trips, and around town "grocery getting" maybe". Plus their just not as cool as gasoline cars. they don't sound as cool, and it takes skills to modify regular gasoline cars (the right way anyway). Which makes it more of an art form. Anybody with basic electrical knowledge can make this car go fast. Its still cool in a techie way. But It's sad in a way that I'll see gasoline cars gone in my lifetime (maybe). But they are bad for the enviroment.
because the electric cars are not as good as the normal cars, they are slow, the battery takes hours for recharge, it not a problem for me, but for the rest of the ppl it is!
and btw the batteries still being a contaminating element!
The revolution are the Hydrogen cars, check out the new Honda (i dont remember the model) hydrogen car.
Actually there is a car out there made in the US that's all electric, and can go 0-60 in under 3 seconds. Its not slow and can charge up in a little over 4 hours. Can't remember the name of it thou, its made in Cali.
Why are you talking in watts, if it says high voltage? Dumb.

hartattack940 1 year ago
@hartattack940 WTF haven't you heard of the laws of thermodynamics? I'm sorry, but what you are saying is making m crack up. You know there is this thing called FRICTION, alternators are not 100% efficient, neither are batteries. Jeez you are a dumbass.
mikitymike 1 year ago
@mikitymike yeah but it will work for a good wile! plus all macanical and electrical parts wear out eventuly! and plus, if the atinator dose break, then the car will runn off the batterys like it originaly dose anyway! and a single car battery can run the engine enough to get you home if your alt gose.. so if it went in an electric car, it'll run just like this one dose.. strait off the batery!
hartattack940 1 year ago
@hartattack940 you still do not understand. It will last LONGER without an alternator. You can't make energy come from nothing. By putting in an alternator, you are taking energy from the battery that could have been used to move the car and you are changing it to useless heat. And learn how to spell.
mikitymike 1 year ago
@mikitymike not realy.. a battery lasts longer if you run it untill its absolutly dead.. and thats impossible to do anyway unless you wanna push the car home..
hartattack940 1 year ago
@hartattack940 WTF do you have any idea what you are saying? I said nothing about running batteries down! WTF??
mikitymike 1 year ago
@mikitymike yeah charging a battery thats not compleatly dead cuts its life shorter

@hartattack940 that's called a memory effect, and most newer betteries don't have that anymore

fuck, why do these americans call petroleum gasoline??
cerealsufle 2 years ago 2
Because petroleum is crude oil, and gasoline is what's actually derived from petroleum to power a combustion engine?
Kman21192 2 years ago
hahaha! i hope thats not what they teach you in america
petroleum is distilled from crude oil, around 70 degrees (celcius)
so is diesel, or as they say in america, deacel oil or distillate, so is kero, and so are many oils, lubricantstheres also paraffin and asphalt and LPG , these all come from crude oil
cerealsufle 2 years ago
That's incorrect. Petroleum IS crude oil. And obviously, many different fuels come from crude oil, which by the way, are called PETROLEUM PRODUCTS because they are derived from PETROLEUM which is the same as CRUDE OIL. Don't confuse Petrol (the nickname for gasoline in many countries) with Petroleum, because they are two different things.
Kman21192 2 years ago
petroleum is derived from crude oil, go look on any website you ignorant shit
gasoline is a made up word from america
if you were right that would make bitumen petrol as well..dead shit!
cerealsufle 2 years ago
You don't need to get so upset over petroleum, I never initiated any personal flaming, and you shouldn't have to either.
I never said bitumen is gasoline. I never said ANY petroleum product except gasoline was gasoline.
Petrol, Benzine, Gasoline, whatever you want to call it, it's the same thing. All words are made up, and these are no different when they were made up in late 1800s.
If you want me to look this up, then fine, here we go.
Kman21192 2 years ago
Let's start out with some definitions of Petroleum from various dictionaries
Dictionary online - ". . .occurring naturally in various parts of the world and commonly obtained by drilling: used in a natural or refined state as fuel, or separated by distillation into gasoline, naphtha, benzene, kerosene, paraffin, etc."
Oxford English Dictionary -"a hydrocarbon oil found in rock strata and extracted and refined to produce fuels including petrol, paraffin, and diesel oil; oil."
Kman21192 2 years ago
Merriam-Webster - "an oily flammable bituminous liquid. . .is a complex mixture of hydrocarbons with small amounts of other substances, and is prepared for use as gasoline, naphtha, or other products by various refining processes"
Now some websites
Petroleum(UK)- "Petroleum in its natural form when first collected is usually named crude oil. . .For several decades now the crude oil or petroleum industry. . ."
Kman21192 2 years ago
Wikipedia - "Petroleum (L. petroleum, from Greek pet???a???, lit. "rock oil") or crude oil is a naturally occurring, flammable liquid. . ."
Answers - ". . .mixture of gaseous, liquid, and solid hydrocarbons that occurs naturally beneath the earth's surface, can be separated into fractions including natural gas, gasoline, naphtha, kerosene, fuel and lubricating oils, paraffin wax, and asphalt and is used as raw material for a wide variety of derivative products."
Kman21192 2 years ago
Petroleum(US?) - "Petroleum (from Greek petra rock and elaion oil or Latin oleum oil ) or crude oil is a black, dark brown or greenish liquid found in porous rock formations in the earth. The American Petroleum Institute, in its Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards (MPMS), defines it as "a substance, generally liquid, occurring naturally in the earth and composed mainly of mixtures of chemical compounds of carbon and hydrogen with or without other nonmetallic. . ."

not really, if you think about it then sun doesnt shine often enough to charge your car up. Imagine that excuse for work
Yrah I cant com into today cause it rained all day yesterday and my car is dead.

Reevin 2 years ago
On top of that you have the batteries, which today are normally lead-acid. These weigh a ton, and if you throw them away (which usually they die after about a year) its horrible..
However, with research and time, batteries as well as electrical principles in general such as hydrogen cars I see potential in... Just right now we definitely need to find something that doesn't kill everything, even down the road.
SpecialAgentBob1234 2 years ago
haha agree, i think the main solution would be hydrogen cars
dardraa 2 years ago
When electricity is produced in mass )like in a power plant) it's more efficient than singular engines working for themselves. This is mainly through heat loss which is usually handled in smarter ways at power plants. Also electricity is becoming greener though you are right in saying there are coal power plants - nuclear is coming into it's own; if the American hysterics would let it. Nuclear has a better safety record in America than coal.
Craggles17 2 years ago
i know nuclear energy is safer in general, but all these treecuddlers dont want to hear that...

"The Controller can produce 50,000 watts"... The controller does not 'produce' anything. And how does that have anything to do with the high voltage stickers?

so do you charge it at home or what , and what's the bright side of this
toonyfatninjas 2 years ago
You charge it wherever there's electricity.
The enviroment doesn' get damaged as It get's by a gasolinecar.

I heard thats what it is, but I wouldn't know.

what if water gets in it?? can u add bodykits or turbos?? how fast do they go??
the1whoB34T5 3 years ago
most off the cars engine is protected against water ( u can drive it when it rains, dont u ?

Bye.
Santiagosony 3 years ago
Actually there is a car out there made in the US that's all electric, and can go 0-60 in under 3 seconds. Its not slow and can charge up in a little over 4 hours. Can't remember the name of it thou, its made in Cali.
