Bea really would have been a fantastic Rose! What a shame! I guess there's only so many revivals they can do. They should just keep Gypsy going all year long like Chicago and let another actress take a shot at it every few months or so.

The guy is Jack Klugman who originated the role of Herbie in Gypsy (1959) opposite Ethel Merman. Merman sang 'Small World' to Klugman in the orginal stage production. Therefore, his appearance here with Bea Arthur is quite meaningful.

When I was a kid, I remember Bea Arthur and Hal Linden singing this on The Mike Douglas Show. They would have been the perfect Rose and Herbie.
