The removal of teacher's powers to enforce discipline in schools were taken away during the 13 years of Labour to the point where removing an unruly child from a classroom by force or breaking up fighting children can be considered assault. They also think that a bloated welfare state (which encourages single mothers) is a good thing. More single mothers= More boys being raised without fathers. It declined by around 3-4% under Thatcher and when labour came to power it was >20% of GDP

@zzxzqwq .. as expected by behaving as though they are more important and have more power and rights than the teachers, which, sadly is the case!! The police are in a similar situation where they are tied up by paper work and legalities preventing them from using force to stop the looters.

The UK is in horrendous debt after 13 years of Labour at the helm, which was still the case when the Torries got in power. The removal of teacher's powers to enforce discipline in schools were taken away during the 13 years of Labour to the point where removing an unruly child from a classroom by force or breaking up fighting children can be considered assault. The kids know this very well and act....

Harman can sneer, but Gove's determination to increase educational standards in this country and to get state school kids studying the same A-levels as private school kids might actually get some disadvantaged children to a better place. If Harman thinks these problems have only been brewing for the past year and a half, she's even more out of touch than she seems here.

@blanoz Lefties such as Harman think that families don't need fathers, and do everything in their power to ensure that courts continue to favour mothers when it comes to child custody. They also think that a bloated welfare state (which encourages single mothers) is a good thing. More single mothers= More boys being raised without fathers. Boys without fathers are much more likely to goto prison; end up in gangs; end up RIOTING, etc.

I think Labour just lost the next election if this is going to be their attitude to the riots in Parliament this Thursday.
Try telling the shop owners and the people's whose homes that have been destroyed that it was all 'due to the cuts'.
Labour live off the fear and discontent of people, and hope they can whip it up and turn these rioters into future Labour supporters with faint hearted pleas of 'listening to youth': it speaks volumes about the integrity of the left.
