There's more to the music biz than making an album and having a "hit". Nevertheless she continues to record (yes even beyond 1985) and perform live (you can find vids right here on YT). My only point is she had to be tough. But she's not a mean person. There's a difference, though you may not see it in the editing of a a tv show.
