Thanks for sharing your experience with us! I just did a video on the home birth movement, and when I have my next child I am totally doing a HB. Sorry you couldn't have him in the water, but like you said you listened to your body...I still applaud you for going natural!
Do you think maybe if Joel was behind you in the pool he would have been able to support you better to push? Maybe that's why it WAS easier for you with Jace cause you had the support of the bed. I hate to see you cry! I hope you get your water birth with number three.
Oh and I have no idea why I'm watching these old vlogs haha. I love them!
aww dont appologise for the tears, who doesnt get emotional in the days after birth, i cryed do much on my 3dr cos i had to have a c section cos he was breech and i felt so cheated, being 32 weeks again with no 4 im praying for a natural birth, my 1st 2 were born so quick and easily!
I really hope you have a third child! Since even before you started trying to conceive your second child I've been watching your videos and hope that there will be another baby story to follow soon! Congrats on all you have, you guys seem like such an amazing family.
Oh my you strong strong woman! I had to stop in the middle of pushing with my first son but I had an epidural & it was still the worst thing in the world! I felt like it was forever but my husband said it was only 30 mins but I kept passing in & out & dont remember much bc I was still in pain. They had turned my epidural back so I would feel the urge to push & my sons head was already crowning but I had to stop to wait for the dr. as a result my son had a bruise on his head for two weeks.
I'm so sorry that you didn't get the water birth that you had hoped for!! But baby Kacen just decided that he didn't want to be born in the water...lol
I am sorry that things did not go as you planned. I feel your pain on that I had to have a emergancy c-section because of preclamsia (sorry cant spell well) with my first child so I have been stuck getting c-sections with my second child and will have to have with my third child as well so things have not went the way I have planned and never will. I have never even been able to feel labor at all. It makes me upset everytime I think about it. Your son and daughter are beautiful.
oh my gosh, the hip thing was one of the most important forms of pain relief that I used. Saw it during my antenatal class and the ones you uploaded - thanks so much for putting those up, by the way.
I am sorry to hear your homebirth went differently then how you had hoped. I too had a homebirth that was not at all anything like I had planned...I was stuck with that "lip" of cervix for hours (like 6). Brutal. Everyone was so passive and I was scared and alone while trying to manage the pain. I was limping for two weeks after because of my legs having been held back for hours to push. My son was also 9lbs 50z so ouch :/ I am glad you and baby are healthy, and wish you all the best.
I'm so sorry that the waterbirth didn't happen the way you were dreaming of. I understand your tears. If my birth doesn't work out at least mostly like I am dreaming of I think I will be crying a ton. I mean I have been dreaming of this birth for YEARS.
I don't understand why so many people gave me a thumbs down. i didn't mean it in a negative way I ment you must of been upset the way you didn't get to have a water back waterever poeple.
Aww im sorry the birth pool plan didn't work out! I cry at absolutely anything...so i totally started bawling at this vid...yeah...not the best day....
i think you're right about the cervix and why you didn't feel the urge to push while in the water. sometimes that "lip" is stubborn--and sometimes it's due to the position of the baby (if his head wasn't well applied to the cervix--did she mention anything like that?)
blessings to you and your little babe--what a treasure this documentation will be for you in the future.
Aw sweetie. I am so sorry you didnt give birth in the water like you wanted too. You still had a homebirth like you wanted. Your little boy is here and healthy.
I made my do his thing the night before my due date! Woke up an hour later feeling damp, thought 'oh had my water gone?' stood up and out it came! lol But didn't go into labour pain wise till 12 hrs later, 4.5 hrs later out came Alice! It was a good warning, but soaked the carpet!
Oh Lucy! You amde me laugh and cry with only one video! I´m kindo sorry that you didn´t get to deliver like you wanted to! But you really did an amazing job giving birth to that boy! And after I´ve seen him, I think it was worth the hard work!
Aww I almost started crying when you were! I know just how it feels to have something you really want to happen and then something goes wrong and it doesn't end up going how you wanted... I wanted so badly to have a natural child birth and I was doing so well until the doctor told me I had to stay in bed and not move around because her heartbeat wasnt what he wanted to see. I just couldnt take the back labor without moving around so i got the epidural. Hopefully next time I can have a home birth
Aww. Any woman that can have a baby naturally with out any pain meds is seriously amazing. I think my daughter had a tramatic birth. By the time she made it out i was screaming, crying and cursing... But you have a healthy, beautiful and happy baby and that's all any mother can ask for.
hey lucy i see how emotional u get about having a water birth but just thank god that ur lil boy is here and healthy.and u r such a strong women i dont think i could ever do a home birth ur very strong xoxoxoxo
What part of water birth did you want Kacen to experience? The bond or being born in an environment such as the one he's been in for 9 months? I hate it when you cry, Makes me wanna cry.
It's not just what I wanted HIM to experience but for my self as well... And not even JUST that either, but I made it a point to not really "plan" anything (for the most part) for just in case it didn't work that way, I wouldn't be heart broken b/c I know my self... lol BUT the one thing I did plan was a water birth it self ¬ once did I foresee that not happening so I was sad, but it was also my choice 2 get out and 2 get back on the bed... I did what my body said to and that I dont regret.
But I think everyone can understand when u have ur heart set on something and it doesn't happen for WHAT EVER THE REASON it's sad basically. The transition into the world through a water birth is what I had wanted for him, and for my self. I wanted to have that less painful experience, and to bond initially in the water, where I love to be the most (so long as it's a bath tub or pool b/c I am SCARED TO DEATH of the lake or ocean, haha)
I TOTALLY get that!! I'm exactly the same when big things in life don't go as planned... takes me a long time to get over if not at all! I think the way you're looking at it though by doing what your body was telling you to do is good. Nothing you can do about it now and just wasn't meant to be.. Hopefully Hoel got to catch him :)
haha yupp, mainly because it's the fear of the unknown. Anyways, when you cried, I cried. Your so amazing, truly! So strong and soo helpful and informative!!! God bless
You seriously sounded like you did an amazing job having Kacen!! So don't be sad about not being able to have him in the birthing pool. you had your beautiful son without drugs at home with your family like you wanted..you are awesome so be very proud of yourself hun!
Watching you tear up made my eyes well up too. Try to have no regrets darlin'. He is here and healthy! :) That is the best thing that you could hope for. Maybe if you have a third child you can try for another water birth. ;)
I hope...One day the Lord will bless us financially enough to have a 3rd, not just for a water birth, lol... but I dunno.. I loved it all so, and I LOVE being a mother, and of course if God decided we could afford another one and those blessed us with another baby I'd be thrilled. But by no means we will TTC for a 3rd anytime soon.
Oh hun I'm so sorry - obviously just watched this after posting comments on part 1 and now realise how emotional it makes you...! :( I guess you had your heart set on the water birth so much..
Oh Lucy don't cry...you are making me want to cry :( You did an amazing job having him at home in your bed! I really do think you are so brave and strong for making sure you had the delivery you truely wanted.

You can get the peppermint oil drops from herbal websites. Just google peppermint oil drops, they aren't expensive either.
