SOLID on floor and her bars are good. Can't leave her home. I think the 5th spot can go to liukin or another beam/bars gymnast. Vault: Johnson, Weber, Maroney .
@Huskyowner2007 I like your selection... but I think Alicia definitely did not to be on the team. Way too inconsistent. I would replace her with Annia Hatch, and maybe replace Allyse with Mohini Bhardwaj.

this was the biggest joke of a team ever. from what a hear, there was a lot of politics going on. carly and courtney squared had to be taken, because courtney squared qualified at trials, and carly was the only person capable of contending for the aa title in athens. annia hatch? seriously? she was brought for one event. and who on earth leaves at the home the reigning CO-WORLD CHAMPIONS on bars???
One thing that will help this team in 2012 is that there will NOT be a selection camp; the team will be selected AT TRIALS. Marta didn't want it that way, but there was no time between the Trials and the Olympics. I think that that will really help with some of the burnout and injuries that have affected past Olympic teams. I think forcing these girls to go through the stress of U.S. Championships, Trials AND selection camps was a recipe for disaster.
Marta needs to just quit. She hasn't picked a gold Olympic TEAM in the fifteen years. I doubt they will get gold in 2012. Russia, Romania and China have been catching up over the past few years. I am sure they will be at their peak when 2012 comes. Marta just needs to step down. Anyway, Jordyn Weber can't save a whole team.
@kakumei77 I think the U.S. has it's best-ever shot to win gold in 2011. We didn't just win the gold at Worlds' we won it by FOUR POINTS over Russia and SIX POINTS over China. That is HUGE. No, Wieber can't carry a team, but neither can Mustafina or Komova. Romania will be lucky to win bronze, and China is horribly inconsistent.

I always wonder why marda didn't replace mccool with memmell in team finals. If she knew she was gonna sit her she should of replaced her and at least given herself an option when kupets went down. The deepest group of gymnasts ever. To bad they could deliver when it counted.
@ferdyspears Mccool wasn't injured. She faltered in prelims and Marta didn't want to risk using her. Athletes can't be replaced merely because they performed bad in prelims
@tmwalkerm It's a rule. Like say a team picked 6 all arounders for prelims, but then only put in specialists for 3 up 3 count, when those gymnasts could have qualified the team the first day because they only each train 1 or 2 events, that rule is in place to force countries to have all arounders on the team, and event specialists, but to put more emphasis on all around because that is the basis of the sport.
Unless she had gotten hurt she couldn't have been replaced
Memmel should have been on there. No doubt.
