  • Weldon Dave. Very Informative Demo...

  • how thick is this?

  • I have bought a M400, but without one of the two pens...i would like to get one, but here in germany, its very difficult to get a cheap one, they are very expensive, does a pen from a wacom tablet work with it? Oh and the tablet has no dvd drive...does someone know where to get one? Would be nice if they ship it to germany :D

  • I have two M400's, a 1.86 Core Duo, and the very rare 2.33 Core 2. The 1400 x 1050 is a much better display over the 1024x768 version. The fans can be noisy, but it you change the power profile to a Lower setting for average stuff, it becomes bearable. Note that the new M780 is only about 40% faster than the 2.33 Core 2 M400, and uses the new lower resolution screen :-( If you have any questions, fire away.

  • dem glasses D:

  • Does anybody have problems with the scree rotation button? It worked before, i don't know why it doesn't work anymore~~ I'm trying to find a way to fix it~

  • Very helpful! thank you very much!

  • I just purchased an M400 tablet from ebay w/ Tablet OS. I am qualified for an upgrade to Vista. In your experience, is it an easy install? Is it better than Tablet OS? They say that hand recognition is better in Vista compared to WTOS. I got it with 1GB of RAM and want to upgrade it to 4GB. Are there "unreachable slots for RAM? HP TC4400 has 1 unreachable slot for ram which sits below the keyboard, thus I did not choose it. Thought? Comments on reliability and hand recognition? Thanks.

  • Thanks for the review.

  • lol wat skool is that? cause where i live all the skools use the same laptop...nearly

  • I use this tablet for my school, its compulsory to get one

  • Can you use the touch screen to zoom in, so a s to make it easer to read small text? Pluse can you on vista select text and have the pc read allowed to you, like on a mac?

  • Very good review! I'm a web designer and I'd like to get something that lets me "get away from the desktop" and allow me to edit (not paint) graphics in Photoshop and browsing the web efficiently.

Is the pen quick and precise to use when surfing? Could I install XP Tablet Edition for improved speed and compatibility?

  • WOW thanks alot im currently taking some art classes to become an art major and this will help alot. Thank you friend xD keep us updated on cool products..

  • good work ! great job !

  • Great demonstration- but the same as in ALL of the demos:

    Who writes such big letters?!?!

Can anyone tell me a site or demo where I can see usual writings a student does?

(and not a child or blind person...using that BIG FAT letters)

  • You said it man. It's hard to find a video demo of a person writing regular notes. But I guess it has to do with visibility on the camera though. Still, the zoom function on a camera isn't there for nothing. Personally I want to see the difference between the SXGA and XGA screens in terms of writing.

  • "I was wondering though what u think of writing on the 12.1" screen. It seems a little small."

Thanks. Haven't had any issues with the size; I had an M200 before (same size) and was used to it. It may depend on how often you use it as a tablet. I find smaller is nice because it improves portability. Larger displays tend to be heavier; I had a Gateway CX200X tablet (~14" wide screen), that was 7+ lbs. I carry my tablet to meetings etc, and found it too heavy for comfort.

  • "Just a quick question. Does the Fan Noise Issue really true? that the fan is on all the time?"

Not all the time; it spins up when you tax the system. If you're just reading something on screen, or taking notes, it doesn't spool up. It is much louder when running than not, but I don't find it's loud enough to bother me, or be disruptive in the conditions under which I typically work with it (meetings, etc.)

  • thx~! Nice video.

I was wondering though what u think of writing on the 12.1" screen. It seems a little small.

  • Just a quick question. Does the Fan Noise Issue really true? that the fan is on all the time?

  • Thanks much for the video - couldn't find the M405 or M400 in local stores and don't want to order blindly, so this video has filled a critical gap!

  • Thanks, I've been shopping around for a tablet PC. I may not get the M400, but I'll probably get the either Tecra or Satellite Toshiba tablets.

  • To Whom it may concern:

Your video was appreciable, except there was some unecessary footage...mostly at the very beginning and end. It would be advisable if, like many have requested, the pen was displayed in motion with the screen. Thank you for all your HARD work.

  • thnx for the demo!

  • i totally agree!

  • Hi David,

Good video, thanks for that, certainly one of the better ones I've seen. However, could you please do a video of you using the pen with the laptop, in particular drawing with it as that is what I - and I'm sure many others - are interested in. Or could you get an artist friend to give it a go?
