I would like this movie better if I knew if it was intentionally funny or not. Example: The scene where they're having a serious discussion about faith, Joaquin Phoenix gives that story about some girl puking. That totally broke the mood for me. Another scene: I forgot what exactly he said, but Mel Gibson said something, with a straight face, to the effect of "I know one thing: they're weak against pantry doors". It's has such a serious tone, but it made me laugh too much to take it seriously.

@s0nic777 Perhaps they didn't know. I look at it as a tribute to War of the Worlds where the aliens died out because of our air.

pretty good movie and one of the most suspenseful movies I have ever seen the only dumb thing about it is the aliens can be killed by water which is like well why would they come to a planet made up of mostly water lol

I loved the movie. still scares me today.

the only things about it that aren't so good are the aliens lose to water (on a planet of mostly water - you would think they would have planned for that) and they cant open doors or even kick them down when they at least seem to be on par or stronger then humans.

of course aliens coming in space ships needing to make crop circles is stupid in its own right. But I can let that pass because its just what aliens do

@Winnuting It's obvious... :P, two things to explain why they came with 75 or 70% of water, Solution: They don't know that Water can hurt them, and they don't know what it is, Two: They weren't even thinking about Water when the came.

Why can't they open doors if they're stronger? They don't know how!! It's like a baby trying to open the door! And remember! They did bust it down! Or something like that.

Why Crop Circles? I don't know. lol
