I do not know how David Milliband has the neck to go to Bletchley Park and profess how proud he, and the Government are, of the work that was done there and the men and women who did it when they have always steadfastly refused to provide any funding in order to save the Park!!! As for awarding the veterans a "Badge" - what an insult, these people deserved MEDALS for what they did! Yet another example of "too little - too late" by an apathetic and couldn't care less Government"!!!
Type in: "Bletchley Park Tour" in the search bar at the top of the screen and look for a series of videos done by a guy called "LFraserS", his vids are called "Bletchley Park Tour - Part 1, 2, 3 etc. He's a Tour Guide at BP and he is doing a series of vids about the Park. Up to now he has uploaded Parts 1 to 5 with more to come. They're excellent and really bring the place alive.
It's about time we honoured these people. I once saw Captain Jerry Roberts give a talk at UCL about his experiences at Bletchley Park and the number of lives saved because of their work - both directly through the intelligence they uncovered and indirectly through their work shortening the war - is really quite incredible.
Now, Mr Miliband, how about erecting a permanent memorial? I hear there's a fourth plinth going spare in Trafalgar Square?
