I suppose I should be more clear: If they were behind something that was substantial cover, then it may not matter. If it's penetrable, though, then it's not cover but concealment, and the more guys you send behind it, the greater the chance of a cluster****. Bullets, grenades, it won't matter. Also, from what I've seen about military training, they don't have you standing in a cluster, but a line, to minimize casualties in case bullets or grenades get through/around the cover.

There is always a risk no matter what you're doing in combat and I understand that. I also understand it's better to move in fire teams and not individually. For all I know, this group of militia is training with the best stuff they have and that is awesome, more power to them. Training is how you learn, and I just hope they consider these things. Not everyone in the militias were in the military. Not all veterans were grunts, and so all of them don't have advanced tactics training.
