Hey man, I can't give you any advice, just practice really slowly so it's perfectly clean and just build up the speed. The solo in my cover isn't as clean as I wanted, so I don't wan't to give you wrong tips or something.

I struggled with the solo aswell :D I can't give you many tipps for the solo, just practice it really slowly.

When I first learned those patterns ( that was arround 1 1/2 years ago ) I practiced them the whole day for 2 weeks. So don't worry if you don't improve mega fast, it all takes time.

a free version of guitar pro is tux guitar, i use it and is exactly the same as guitar pro .

you can change the tempo for when learning fater solos, trivium use a beat of 157bpm but u can slow it right down to 30bpm =] hvae fun guys

Yeah, I got that programm, too.

But in my opinion, guitar pro is much better. It's has more features and tons of instruments you can experiment with.

But to practice all those hard solos, it doesn't matter what programm you use.

I played one a while back...

The neck is amazing and the guitar was brilliant. I couldnt believe it was an entry level guitar. I would have the GRG over any gibson anyday of the week ;)

and its in my price range

Yeah man, I played about 20 different ultra expensive guitars (Gibson, Jackson, ESP, Dean and all that stuff) guitars at a local guitar store.

But all the Ibanez guitars I've played on were nicer to play than any other guitar, wether it was an expensive or a cheap one. It seems that Ibanez does good work in every price class :D

But that's just my oppinion =D

Tomorrow I'll be dead because some special agents from Gibson killed me for saying that ^^

The solo was my only problem too, that 16th note pattern in the end is pretty simple, but at 160 BPM it's just killer ^^

if you still havnt learnt the solo...

get a metronome or if your using guitar pro, change the beat of the solo

Then learn each bar at a time, do that until you can play each bar perfectly atleast 8 times with NO screw ups...

Then move onto the next bar, and once you have learned the solo just speed it up, a bit at a time

(im a guitar teacher, so I know what im talking about, trust me it will help)

is the laney lx65 any good? a dealer is offering it to me for a very good price, just couldnt find much reviews on the net. plan to use it for recording and live gigs in small, medium sized clubs. will it work well for post rock type of music? the soft-loud dynamic?

that are a lot of questions ^^ I haven't played live with this amp yet, but it's loud enough to play with drums. For live gigs, it's too small I think (depends of how big the club is) But it works for a lot types of music in my oppinion (with the right effect pedal =D).

You can just hold it in a special way, because you can't put them on your right leg to play ^^

You have to hold it on your left leg, that's the classical way to hold a guitar I think.

the guitar is pure metal if you want it ^^ I learn the whole "Ascendancy" album at the moment and the sound is very good for it :D I think it's the combination of guitar + amp and maybe effects that make the sound. You should try it out in a music store or something.

yes this song was written for 6 string guitars. The whole "Ascendancy" album is played with 6 strings and dropped D tuning. But on "Shogun" they played with 7 strings =)
