  • wish I was there. I love all the incarnations/changes of Japan and Duran Duran over the years. That's why I love YouTube- look at Japan from the 70s and you have a totally different look (T Rex/Roxy pre-new-romantic fashion). Check out early Pseudo Echo- very similar sound yet they're from Austrailia. Instead of hating, I say - the more of this music- the better!

  • fuck i want to be back in the 80s

  • duran duran is not a copy ...they are sufficently different to not be accused of bein' a copy... each of those both bands was surely partially influenced be the other ... but nothing more... and less than some Bowie or Roxy stuff... We don't have to forget that the whole new wave scene has often more or less similarities in style... cure, simple minds, banshees, ultravox, bill nelson early 80s lp's, blondie ,echo & the bun.... etc... etc...

  • yeah, a cheap copy that had number one albums and hit singles who sold 1000 times more live tickets than Japan, yeah, cheap copy alright.....

  • I JAPAN was a big influence on DURAN DURAN...you can really tell with the DD song Planet Earth and this one...luv them both.

  • @mic01 AND David Sylvian's influence on Nick Rhodes...which was always well-documented, so no surprise...just saying...both pure genius

  • A beautiful man. I was smitten when I was 13 and love looking back at this footage.

  • Duran duran are a cheap copy of Japan

  • RIP Mick Karn an Angel on Bass.

  • R.I.P Mick Karn

  • Mick Karn just looked so cool throughout Japan's career and this video shows that - with his lime suit and really original look and don't get me started on his unbelievable bass sounds! RIP.

  • R.I.P Mick Karn, bassist extraordinaire & multi-instrumentalist on many of Japans wonderful albums
