  • This looks complex. I want to mod mine but i think i will end up smashing it if i try haha.

  • @adrianheink Well it's not actually a mod, its just an external circuit i built from the book i mention in the info pane below the video, so there's no risk of damaging the old yamaha stuff like this. Great fun and easier than it looks!

  • WOW this takes me back! I used to hve the 480 when I was a kid lol.

  • This is dope!

  • Love it,thinking of having go myself!!

  • Excellent work - this sound absolutely great!! Love the squealing sound and am also a fan of Nicolas Collins' handmade book and having been trying some of the experiements...

It would be great if you were able to post a pic somewhere of the point that you found that creates a squeal / show the insides and wiring. Any chance?

  • this was Kickass!!!

  • @jerefoxleycba Thanks very much :D

  • A DD10 *AND* a PSS-580... same exact combo I had when I was a kid!

  • @matt9741399 They make a good pair don't they? Its a shame i didn't have these as a kid, would have been fun.

  • My subscriptions have been going crazy too, it keeps showing me things I've seen. Glad you like it. I must get round to building some of these proper. I've used all my prototype boards up now with bits from that book.

  • what was that book again? i never delete messages but i searched all through my inbox in all sections and i couldn't find the message with the name of that book. >:0

  • Nice Chris! Man you sure do get your hands on some good oldies :)

  • Thanks man. Yeah I think I've nearly milked the area dry of good old school lofi stuff. Haven't had as much luck so far this year. Still, Iv'e found plenty of stuff to play with over the years. I'm not gonna stop looking though... Having said that I found a cheap Shs-10 a few weeks ago I've yet to use.

  • BADASS!

  • Hehe, thanks. There's life in these old bits of kit yet!
