  • High chair and way too much rocking. Isn't the point of boxes to start from a fixed / static position? This Is just as impressive as wannabe half squats

  • respect my man!

    no belt?? jesus!

  • Squat not aquatic

  • How much more is your box aquatic than you regular squat man?

  • You are the best;-))))

    Very nice chanel,good work!!!

  • good stuff bro

  • WHOOOOO LIGHT WEIGHT BABY! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!

  • fucking beast. period. fuck the haters.

  • this is impressive that is alot of weight but rocking like that looks very dangerous

  • First off u need to get the box closer so ur not walking back forever. Next get a box that puts u right at or alittle below...never lift ur feet off the ground ur asking for something to break...real squatters will hit depth anything else is a waste of time!

  • @conleyman67 i agree with most of that. using high box squats can help your lockout just like rack pulls help your deadlift. i mix high box squats in like every 5 or 6 weeks just to overload the bar and go much heavier than I can on a true depth squat. its helped me break through plateaus.

  • yuo need a shorter box 4 the box sqats bc you only come down to not paralel and yo cant let feet leave floor cuz itll dmage yourn back disks and you need surgury// n why you wear wressling pads on knees and not raps???

  • thats so dangerous without a back spotter,,daammn

  • Someone at my gym told me that box squats will crush/ruin the discs in my lower spine. Is this true?

  • I was going to answer your question but I thought I'd do you one better. DON'T listen to anyone in youtube. Whatever advice anyone here gives u, disregard it because for everyone one intelligent person there are 100 stupid fucks. Got ask a professional or at least someone you trust

  • Thanks for the tip.

  • @xjusticex2013x they can if u do them wrong. u need to come down slow. too many do box squats and come down too fast, its like putting a few hundred pounds on your back and falling flat on your ass -u could really jack up ur low back and blow some discs. just like the killabeastcali guy said, go ask a pro or a legit PL in your guy for training advice.

  • *this is not a hate message* I just began doing these and the person I learned from said you should just bump the box then explode back up. This person was creditable too. Whats your take on it ? I dont' care who is right I just want to get my squats up before my meet.

  • @jardineninja If all you want to do is get your parallel up then I'd just skip the box squats. They're Ok but there's a lot better things to do with your time. I'd just parallel and front mostly

  • great lift man,i especially love how the feet leave the ground when u sit down ,ive worked my way up to 635 box squat X2

  • pound for pound that guy is like a giant hydraulic piston, very impressive

  • awesome lift. . .

  • this isn't a 15inch box

  • that cant be good for your back, bringing your feet up and letting all the weight compress your back.

  • box squats are the best way to grow your Squat. stop your whining about someone else and go deep or go home

  • Full Squats are the best way to grow your squat... but you're right, deep is best. Do we know why this (strong) dude is doing them? i.e sport specific?

  • if your plateauing on back squats, box squats are the best way to grow your squat.

    powerlifters train box squat religiously.

  • Gotcha.... so how do they train the bottom half and stengthen the supporting muscles at the base of the squat? Brings up a funny point though - there are guys at my gym who think a full squat is half of what this guy is doing on a box! ha ha

  • i dont think i ever mentioned anything about going deep, where i lift, we are currently doing a type of overload, and all squats need to be below parallel or they dont count.

  • I don't see the reason for bskola lifting his feet off the ground, my comment was more directed at doing box squats vs. regular squats. Box squats have helped my back and driven my my strength through the roof. If bskola was to be suited w/ a weight belt I'm sure he could do 200lbs more.

  • why would someone feel the need to wear a suit.. raw is impressive suits are not, and box squats build explosive strength... that's why its the primary squat for most athletes

  • i agree only to the point of him bringing his feet up. i'm pretty sure powerlifters keep their feet on the ground and tension in their legs

  • how tall are you? cause I'm 5'11" and a 15" box brings me just slightly below parrallel.

  • how are u measuring parallel? 15" is pretty high up there.. most people use around 12" from what I've heard. Parallel is when the crease of ur hip drops to the same height as the top of ur knees

  • actually hardly anybody uses a 12" box...thats way below parrallel. 15" for most people is parrallel. if u look up the box this guy using, its 18" they dont make them in 15"

  • GREAT JOB MAN!!!! KEEP IT UP!!!! post some Deadlift vids if you can!

  • lol at the guy in the red shirt watching your feat of strength

  • OK guys just to clear a couple things up:

    - the box squat is supposed to build explosive strength; this means that you must go down, kill momentum, and then rely on explosive strength to power yourself back up

    - rolling on the box does build a little momentum; to remove that momentum you should sit on the box and pause for a moment instead of rolling

    - when you are sitting on the box, you have to keep your abs and trunk tight!! otherwise all the weight will put stress on your lower spine

  • cheating? ohk watever you say

  • que?

  • what what?

  • just curious bskola. Why do you lift up your feet like that? Haven't seen anyone do that and I've seen alot of people box squat.

  • he does that maybeee to show people hes not cheating ??

  • dude...I thought you were going to roll right off the box on that first rep...scary! Nice lift though...

  • Ya tell that too all the westside powerlifters who do box squats with 700+ lbs on a regular basis that their spines are ''screwed up''.

  • Dude - did we say his back was screwed? You assumed that all on your own. All we told him to do was be careful. You obviously could care less if he hurt himself, we're just telling him to be cool with it. That guy us real strong no denying that!

  • look at the guy in the background, with the red shit!he never took his eyes off him

  • True - when standing the weight is spread through all limbs - sit down (which we're not designed to do - ask any chiropracter) and the stress goes right to the lower discs. Careful man!!

  • Haha everyone negs us but it's true I would just touch the box and go. Who the hell cares though this is youtube I respect very few people on here.

  • I'm likin' the beard!

  • dedication at its finest right here

  • Bskola nice work, the form was very impressive:D

  • lol, that made my knees hurt just watching that!!!!!!!

    great job!

  • Damn, that's sick. Hola, do you think you might be safer doing those in a standard Power Rack?

  • OK, that right there, f-in awesome dude, seriously. Great job! I can only hope to be able to do that someday. Keep it up bro.

  • your like a living Brawny paper towel guy or something.

  • sick. youre inspiration

  • Oh my God dude!

  • where is this gym

  • That looks so scary. I think I'll stick to heavy leg presses. lol

    Nice job, dude.
