Hello Trailtraveler. Yes it is possible. You would remove the internal LIPO battery and connect a plug (like the one I used) to the internal connections. There is usually a small circuit board on the front of the battery box, where the external contacts are. Melt a hole in the battery box where it exits out your camera. Good luck.
Thanks shane1800. I connect it to a1C LIPO battery. I took apart a 3 cell 11.1V RC type LIPO battery. I removed the three cells to make three 3.8V LIPO battery's. I used JST connectors on the LIPO battery which then connects to the JST connector on the camera battery adapter. Hope that helps.

I have a Canon mv 5i with a NB2L battery is this also possible ? Did you remove al the components on the board ?
