  • I live less than a block away from the old Depot. Sadly, it was set on fire by an arsonist, and completely destroyed.

  • @TommyBlah45601 Yeah, we've been discussing it on my Facebook page. Very sad! The building will be missed. I'm glad I shot it when I did. I also have a model of it on my layout.

  • Awesome video man. I like the catch on the of the standard cab dash 8. The Union Pacific has been in the process of replacing all the old target signals installed during the steam era with new SMART signals on the Nampa sub here in Idaho. Once again! Grate video.

  • Also, judging by your video locations I presume you live here in Southern Ohio, do you know of any local MR clubs?

  • @1337zomkiller I actually live in Las Vegas, but I'm from McArthur originally. I never found any local clubs, but I know of one in Washington CH...

  • Judging by the amount of power, it looks like 234.

I work for NS out of Portsmouth, Bellevue no longer has N&W signals either and they're about working on replacing the ones on the east end of Portsmouth yard. I presume the last few in Columbus at Bannon will soon be replaced.

  • @1337zomkiller Word is the C&O signals on CSX are being replaced this year too. Sad! You won't be able to tell one from the other.

  • @ModernDTI Yea, I'm not sure but, I know the Northern Sub (Russel, KY to Columbus, OH) is probably due.

  • @1337zomkiller Yeah, that's exactly where I was talking about. I guess they've already started on the KY side. C&O and N&W signalling practically taught me everything I know about railroad signalling. The newer ones just aren't the same.

  • @ModernDTI Working for NS and seeing (well, using?) the N&W signals first hand I much prefer them. I enjoy the history behind them but, unfortunately on the Columbus and Sandusky districts the only N&W CP signals left are, (Portsmouth) GS, Hutchins Street, Waller Street, and Spring Lane. As well as East End Middle Track and Bannon in Columbus by Watkins yard.

  • Awesome video! I liked the old signals better!
