George actually plays bass on this. Creem: You also told me you played bass on "Old Brown Shoe." George: It’s like a lunatic playing. Creem: It sounds like McCartney was going nuts again. George: That was me going nuts. I’m doing exactly what I do on the guitar.
TO SAY THATH TE BEATLES WERE MORE POLULAR THAN JESUS CHRIST IS NOT A SIN, THE LIBERTY OF WESTERN CIVILISATION IS THE RESPECT OF TOUGHTS YOU CAN SAY WHAT EVER YOU WANT BUT MAKE SURE THAT IS THE TRUTH.
This is a really good song, and it's a slight bummer it never became as popular as some of the other Beatles songs did. But you know what scares me?
As I waited for this song, which is an old-fashioned classic rock love song, you know what I hear in the suite room across from mine? A sleezy gangsta rap song about some guy who wants to have mindless sex with a girl he refers to as a bitch.
Its scary how song lyrics have changed so drastically over the past 40-50 years. And not a good scary.
Pattie Boyd really did give me the confidence to get through the Beatle days. It's sad how they drifted apart but it seems like George got his life back again. Poor Pattie, however, struggled...
What a classic! I'm not even going to compare this to some new music artists! It would be insulting to the Beatles! George Harrison will live in my heart FOREVER!
I never noticed, until now, the similarity in the guitar bit at 1:44 (just before the vocals come back in) to the end of the solo on "Carry That Weight" (just before the line "I never give you my pillow..."). It's a subtle similarity which I doubt many would notice (...or care).
Better than Ballad of John and Yoko, and in my opinion, should of been the A-side, not the B-side! Along with Rain, I think that should of been the single, with Paperback Writer as the B-side.
@velocikiller13 Oh sorry, i thought you said 'I dislike!!' haha sorry i'll delete my comment, yes i agree, how could anybody dislike this song, i love it so much! :)
@EGMAG yeah it does. probably because they're both george harrison songs and they were written around the same time period. usually songs written by the same peron, around the same time tend to sound similar. of course, john and paul are both exceptions to this.

"Ballad of John and Yoko" might have been the sexier single, but I think this is the better song

yeah, a reminder of the times where a song used to be still a piece of music, not a piece of routine shit

If you think about the lyrics written for Pattie Boyd,
"You don't really how much I need you, love you all the time and never leave you"
"Something in the way she moves attracts me like no other lover"
"Because you're sweet and lovely girl, I love you"
"I loved you from the moment I saw you. You looked at me, that all you had to do"
HE MUST HAVE LOVED HER SO!

If they didn't get divorced, Dhani would have never happened. George actually had a son before that, Andrew, in 1964.

@johngears11 The Ballad Of John And Yoko is the only song that should have been removed from the Hey Jude Beatles Again LP replaced with Drive My Car
