  • Our beloved Scottsdale 6 Drive In has closed. We are contacting the media in hopes to convince the land owners to re-open. If anyone would like to join our group to help campaign to keep our drive-ins open, to save a part of our history...please join our group on Facebook..." Save the Scottsdale 6 Drive-In"...Thank you

  • There were about (12 or so) in Columbia,SC in the early 1960's. In door theatres were "all the rage" for frequenting, if you were "classy', most popular in school, etc.

I went to both, really loved them, took them for granted too much, they went away...now they're popular again, more family oriented..I'd love to visit one soon !

  • Congratulations for over 9,000 views. I've always enjoyed your clips, nice to see others appreciate them, too. The original song complimernted the images just fine. So many of us take the outdoor theaters for granted. My closest one is 40 miles away, but, we usually travel the 70 miles to the CAPRI.

  • YES Bring Back The Drive-In's!!! Thanks for your posts!

  • @driveinknight we still have drive ins in canada, suckers!

  • America is dying. Bring back drive ins!

  • We love drive -inns.there is one near our home and when summer is here its movie time .We both grew up in the era and were even thinking about purchasing a drive in .The best one we have visited is the Silver Drive inn.Its located in Johnstown ,Pa and you must see it .Like stepping back in time ,its clean with good food and friendly people .The owner spoke to us and he gave us a few drive in items with the silver logo and phone number .Warm fuzzy feelings abound

  • nice tribute thank you

  • Well done video & great song about drive-ins! I saw my own drive-in @ :19 It was then known as the Port, between Williamsport & Jersey Shore, PA. We're still trying to fix it up a little at a time.

  • As a young man in the 1970's and 1980's in Northeastern Montana I could take a date to the drive-in. Two tickets=$5.00, Soda and popcorn for two=$6.00, having to make up a story for Mom and Dad about what the show was about because my girl and I were to busy necking to watch the movie=priceless. My wife and I don't even go to these big movie theaters. What's the fun in going to one of those places?

  • Thanks for the post! Memories... seems like I did the same thing... LOL I remember back in MI my girlfriend and I falling asleep at the drive-in after working all day on the farm, the cops woke us up. It was interesting explaining that to her folks...

  • Sounds like that Everley Bros. song "Wake up little Susie" LOL!

  • I love drive-ins! At my local I can get two movies, a full meal, and large popcorn for just under $20. The multiplex is a rip-off and it sucks. People talking, feet stick to the floor, $8 just for a tub of popcorn, etc.

Its a shame so many shut down. Property tax and limited season are what did it.

  • I've often said that if you gave me a choice between an all expese paid two week vacation in Hawaii OR a weekend tour of 5 or six boarded up abandoned drive in theaters and two open ones, I would NOT be getting my picture taken next to the building that STEVE McGARRET occupied for 12 seasons on CBS! If you've never been to an abandoned drive in theater, try it sometime. It's best to get the owners permission, but, sometimes, the NO TRESPASSING sign isn't secured well, if ya get my meaning...

  • Super memories !!! Thanks !

  • Drive in theaters are a short drive away for many people who take them for granted and don't even go. These same drive ins have patrons who drive hundreds of miles because they lost the close by drive ins.,

  • Very nice stroll down memory lane.

  • I miss the old drive-ins. This video brings back those memories. And what a great song!

  • what a great song and this so awsome. this is classsic america and i hope to open drive oneday.
