By the time the documentary was made, mick ronson had already died, so I guess they didn't have older footage of him talking about the album. Still this is only a part of the documentary, edited.
There is some sweet (& funny) footage from "Classic Albums" - if you go to "Lou Reed MIck Ronson Transformer" on Youtube. Mick talks about Lou. Lou loved Mick....My guess...copyright wouldn't allow for this footage to be included. Mick plays a lot of guitar on the album....(he was so well trained/professional, he used to tune up Lou's guitar when he wasn't looking - LOL!!!)
@redsails2008 - Actually, there is some great footage of Mick talking about Lou/Transformer (it's really funny, 'cause Lou never cared about guitars in tune, and Mick was SO musical) Anyway, probably it was copyright stuff (it was part of MTV "Classic Albums" doc). But honest to God, Mick was SO ill during the interviews, he looked like a skeleton. Rest in Peace, Angel with the Platinum Hair
Okay -that is one of the problems - tjhe influence of Ronson war very importanf for tis album... but the concept of Galm Rock is from Bowie and REeD - and Warhol!!
Where is this clip taken from~I know it's the 50th Birthday in New York~I guess, my question is where is the rest? Thank you again for a wonderful post!!
Patiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!! Mother! Or grandma, since the Strokes, Popklub Arsenal and the Libertines influenced me first... I actually go around my school saying my name is Kimberly and this is my mam singing , cuz thats what it feels like....
Absolutely fantastic video. Thanks so much for putting this up. I love love love the friendship between these two original rock gods. That Bowie helped out the careers of both Lou and Iggy is just fantastic- you would not have had punk rock without either. Love it.
I love Bowie & Reed. But honestly, David knew how to sell albums well and god bless him. But most don't realize how much Lou also contributed to rock 'n roll. What can I say.. despite.. all.. the.. comp.. u.. ta.. tion. I could just listen to that rock 'n roll station, and baby it was all right. Peace, Love & Respect to Lou & David. They saw rock 'n roll as high art, and that's what touches peoples soul.
Still the sexiest men ever created. *heavy sigh*

Bowie's modesty just impacts me. I think he's a way better musician than Reed, but i love both of them. True inspirations.

Bowie had a heart attack a few years back, he probably doesn't smoke anymore. Don't know about his veggies.

Someone needs to slap Bowie for smoking still. Are you reading this David? Eat your veggies and quit smoking. You are a beautiful man.
Yes, I am a completely straight guy and I think you are DELICIOUS :-P~
