I didnt want to like this.. but I couldnt help myself... yr acoustic playing is class and I have to say while it will never touch gedge you certainly should be proud! (you are also quite sexy which also helps!! lol)
p.s the bassline is the easiest thing to get - its the lowest notes that make you want to move.Matt partially plays it on his fatter strings. If you have a thumb its doable.
We are your biggest fans in India and like this but when you sing 'is an essential part of LOVE' the way you stress love sounds like David Brent's 'Free Love Highway'. Looks like a comfy chair. Can we see more of it in the next video? Keep on jangling.
Ha Ha! I'm going to have to disagree with you no the David Brent thing! "She's dead!"...."She's not dead" Lol. Great to have someone watching in India! Fab. Can't imagine that you get many English bands playing over in India? I will certainly put more of my chair in the next vid for you, but I don't want to hurt my doors feelings, so they will both have to be in it more...Cheers.
we're fairly sure that we own India's biggest Talulah Gosh collection and also have the south Asia franchise for encouraging the enjoyment of Ivor Cutler. But I am still in shock from seeing how old C86 faves 'Mighty Mighty' are now - doing "Built Like a Car" on Youtube. Have you tried doing a version of 'Felicity?'
fookin awesome!!!!! i saw weds in leeds at the poly in the early 90s, and i love them still, you do fantastic covers of their stuff. i wanna learn the bass lines to the weds tunes, aaargggh, dya reck i will have much luck? :)
Hey! Cheers. Not sure if you know, but I play bass in a fab indie-pop band called The Candy Twins...I still don;t know any Weddoes basslines though! There is a big lack of any tabs / chords...I have had to work out most of my stuff here...Great you are learning the bass! Get all your old Weddoes stuff out fo your loft and go for it!
another mighty fine effort my man, the esseense of gedge is here - I do think you'd really benefit by standing up tho? (as anyone will tell you when negotiating on the phone stand up as it changes your tone & adds authority to your voice)
reckon you could slap your self, stand up - sing to get more of that WP "grit"!?!..
Hi visiocomb. I do take on board what you are saying..But my chair and my door are like my tradmeark now and I would be nothing without them...I guess that I am just not as angry as Gedge...He is the master and I can only be a mere shadow of his awsomeness...Cheers dude!
Excellent work mate, really really impressed.I reckon I could do the same if I could play the guitar properly and didnt have a cockney accent! I saw the wp live alot as a kid and their still a great band, quality endures and all that.
Hi. gdgdgd bit ok. Bridge - "There's always something left behind" is c and a d shape up one fret and G. The middle eight..well...not sure what you would call them...Triplets? Cheers!
i dont think i could ever muster up enough guts to do this and watch it myself - let alone up for the whole world to see ! sounds wonderful though, not a flaw to be found :)
Phew! The last comment! Hey, really appreciate your comments so thanks very much. This has got to be the all time Weddoes classic. Hope they play it in Brighton! Cheers mate.
Hi Ralph. Nice to hear from you. How's things? Gigging again yet? This is one of my fave TWP songs and I struggle to do it justice on my own. Time to start a band perhaps! Cheers!
Gigs are definately on the back burner. My old chap is unwell again and is back in hospital so a lot of my time is spent with family. I may soon dig into my reserves and post another you tube video if i can.
Hello Mat. Nice to hear another post of yours. I see a few awkwarde chord changes are in there but you played like a pro! Greetings to both you and Sue.
Here is cover number 30 and it's one I have done before but it was beset by technical difficulties from the very start, poor sound quality and a strange whining noise (no, not me singing) so I removed it and have been meaning to re-cover it for ages. I'm happy with this one, so it should stay on here. A big thanks to everyone who has given me (great) comments over the last year...Cheers!
Cheers for sharing. I was stuck after the G-D chords.
