@caseyobrienr macross ,southern cross , mospedia are not related series so dana Miriya and max are not related but harmony gold dubed it called it robotech made it wear they are parents and daughter were they are not

@animeoster04 They had a baby in the original, the only difference is that this baby was styled by Carl Macek to grow up to be the protagonist the the rewritten Southern Cross.

well, technically Macross and Southern Cross are related by being "Super Dimensional" series. it should be noted that Carl Macek made the three series connected in order to meet an episode count required for syndication. Macross by itself was too short to be picked up, so he changed the definition of protoculture, and somehow made three separate stories into one. I for one like Robotech on its own, as well as the originals. I thought it was awesome then and still is today.
