  • Vincent Price is the same guy who said the creepy part in Michael Jackson's song, Thriller.

  • Vincent Price! What a great talent!

  • sup english class.

    i hate all of you.

  • I did the first 3 paragraphs as a monolouge in 6th grade drama I got an A+ !!!

  • Vincent Price is even scary in 240p

  • lol i think his eye is the eye hes talking about lol

  • I'm doing the first two and half of the third paragraph in Drama next week :D

  • im readin this in class now and we are gonna watch this on monday i hope its not too scary...

  • @taurusgirl65 its because he was a heavy drinker, and before he dides they found him uncontiouse in a ditch with a bottle of liqour

  • Can someone explain why liquor is placed on Poe's grave? I never quite understood this.

  • I don't get it. Why is he in a furnished room? I thought he was supposed to tell his story from a madman's cell. Or maybe the police didn't arrest him after finding the body …

  • We are learning about edger Allan Poe and are teachers showed us this video. I'm in 7 grade

  • so we watched this in my reading class people hated it 1 girl had nightmares i love his writting.....my teachers think im disturbed now

  • we had to do a summery of this but we were writting it as the crazy man but this is kinda creepy

  • i watched this in English a week ago

  • These kind of videos always remind me of being in a very warm, stuffy classroom, watching an old television with the volume just slightly too loud.

  • My teacher made us watch this too and it was dead silent in the classroom

  • hah, my teacher made us read and watch this. I was screaming the whole time. ;3

  • Why do teachers like these made for tv shorts? That aren't done very well. But this one takes the cake (Heart?) It is the best I've seen.

  • I read this in class!

  • how can someone dislike this? speechless...

  • ugh edgar allan poe is crazy

  • Im sooo glad that my english teacher told us about poe :D

  • Read this in class today, and saw this

  • @ScottMatthewSullivan same here

  • Read this is Class :)

  • @GeckosAndTurtles same, just today

  • i saw it at school

    Oysters & Pearls - A Modern twist on Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart"

  • Vincent had the ability to bring out the macabre of Poe as no one else has. Somehow, even today, when I reread his works, Price's voice seems to jump off the page and into my head. This happens with pieces he did and ones that he never did - he somehow tapped into the soul, anguish and true dread that seemed to drive EAP.

I've always thought that Poe ruined horror for me - none of Hollywood or S. King tap into the fears that I think we all have, but suppress.

  • Edgar allan poe was a very lost soul. He was weak and wary, and no one on this earth will ever understand what he had to go through. You can really tell his pain in his writings, but that's only the tiniest shred of the dread that went through his mind. Rest in peace edgar allan pie, may you finally be happy.

  • @level10oreo lol u wrote "edgar allan pie" by accident

  • Rest in peace Vincent Price.

  • /anyone else try and find him after they saw halloween horror nights

  • This was the first inner-horror tale written. He was great, though haunted

  • My classmates just presented it earlier :) thumbs up ..

  • An amazing man acting out another amazing mans story , EPIIICCC !!!!

  • edgar alla poe would have been thrilled to meet vincent price

  • pshh.....i'm not calling him a mad man

  • Wonderful

  • Everyone needs to check out Vincentennial, the 100th birthday film festival going on right now in Saint Louis, Missouri until May 28! His daughter Victoria Price will be hosting two events!

  • pretty freaky

  • 13 people were killed and stuffed into the floorboards of some creepy dude's house

  • An absolutely masterful performance of an absolutely masterful work. Bravo!

  • We had this story in Literature class

    It was epic!

  • I don't think anybody couldve acted that out better than he did

  • AMAZING!!! Screw Stephen King. He ain't got shit on Edgar or Vincent!!

  • It is amazing to see this short story acted out. Reading it scared me half to death.

  • I'm in 8th grade, and we read this and the hitchhiker, both amazing stories!(:

  • @kristengotswagg Those were great stories!

  • Hmmm...This phsyco is a pretty clever killer...I could learn a few things from this guy :P

  • This guy looks like he is heavily influenced by the powers of LSD... he seems like a good guy. =)

  • Horror novel see video book trailer

  • Thumbs up if you had to read this and notice EVERY little thing about the effin story-___-

  • hahahahahahahahah yeeeee hes insane supose and i live in santa ana and dat story waz weird\

  • hah i read this. 8th grade babee!

  • such a marvellous actor, he had a wonderful reading voice. He really brought Poe's story to life

  • I agree 1 billion percent that Vincent Price is the best narraotor in the world! :D Vincent Price is beyond any narrator I've EVER heard. That voice! That amazing, dramatic voicee! Along with his grasping face expressions. Ahh.. it gives you chills. Edgar Allan Poe is also genius for such suspenseful, detailed writing! Agh, great combination. That's why this video is so good! I can't imagine if it had never been done..

  • @Anaiss818 omg ikr????when he did the rap for Thriller(lots of love r.i.p. michael!)i had chills running up my spine.i loved it!

  • thumbs up if you read this in class...ahahaha

  • @Aeto22 I TOOK THIS STORY IN MY LITERATURE BOOK =P

  • @Aeto22 I DID TODAY !!

  • @Aeto22 i just did today

  • @Aeto22 lol im my 4th period

  • @Aeto22 Oh my gosh. After all these years, I have come back to this story. My class read it and watched this in 8th grade. I can't believe we read and watched something such as this in 8th grade.

  • I have read The Tell-Tale Heart so many times before. But this takes it to an entirely to level. I'm in love all over again.

  • @msdreapooh22: very intelligent people get that from others all the time

  • Y do 12 hate this? Y?

  • @mayle2010 probably because they hate life and everything beautiful.

  • Vincent Price is one of my all-time favorite actors. He had the ability to scare the hell out of me. One of the movies I love him best in is Diary of A Madman. RIP!

  • GREAT!

  • edgar allen poe was crazy

  • Rest In Peace, Mr. Price

  • i too am reading it with m,y own book named edgar allen poe complet tales and poems

  • Vincent Price is a horror genius. And he's such a nice guy IRL. RIP VP.

  • 12 ppl only have 1 eye.

  • I love the first part how he is rejecting his insanity.

  • @Sardoodledoms Yeah that's something that's a basic trait of alot of narrators in his stories, usually when the narrator of a Poe story insists over and over that he's not insane, it's a sign that he's just about ready for a strait-jacket.

  • Vincent Price dominates all things Poe - even his performance in "The Raven," which was barely connected to the original poem, is absolute genius

  • Gives me Shivers !! Vincent Price Is/was a CLASSIC !

  • And for that, I thank you. It's funny how I also reminise Poe on the 19th of January and long for someday, hopefully soon, to take roses to his tomb and narrate to him some of his best works. I've loved the man since I was just 9 years old:( and I never really thought of him as being insane, he had more sanity than most of us. Long live Master of Horror.

  • I watched a different video in english and the narrator had a better voice. I dont liike this one as well.

  • they skipped a few lines of the original poem at 4:11.

  • 2:40-2:45 WOW...First you open the glass door,in looong steps, then your eyes have to get use to the darkness, your breathing & steps are LOUD!!.Find and follow the cords & unplud them, ssslowly, cuz there are people upstairs.get every thing ready but keep your ear to the cealing.Damn.I was 13 & just the 1 time. But for having a big mouth it came back bite me in the arse.Man V/P is a hypnotist!!the way he does his dialogue he pull you in & keeps you there,he makes every thing he's in more watchable

  • so cool!!!

  • hahahahaha 1:12-1:20 <33

  • Comment removed

  • fan-freaking-tastic. this is just too good for words. This is going up on my blog halloween day.

  • I like my version better. Vincent seems to be "playing" crazy. See Poe's Web cam - Scott Craig Jones

  • Love it! I'm very proud to live in Mr. Poe's hometown. I've spent many a Halloween at Westminister Cemetary to visit his grave....amazing place...

  • @CharityBarnum ; Please be a dear and place a single black rose on his grave for me on halloween;

  • I'm making a short film trilogy based on three of Edgar Allan Poe's works, 'The Tell-Tale Heart', 'The Fall of the House of Usher' and 'The Raven'. Poe was truly a master of his art. I always get chills when I read the final line of The Tell-Tale Heart. Vincent Price acts this out very well, he never failed to amaze me.

  • Super Creepy. I love it

  • Google

THE TELL TALE HEART is ONEWHITEDUCK :-)

  • OL EVIL EYE

  • i really find the tell-tale heart funny because the human heart can/will keep beating for about 2 min on it's own after it's been removed from a person most likely a "beating heart cadaver"

  • My god this man was brilliant..has always been one of my favorites.A disturbing story made more disturbing by the finest actor of the last century.

  • My favorite actor :3

    Always has been,

    and always will be,

I hope if my beliefs on God and the afterlife are false, I meet him in the afterlife.

  • One of my fave poems

  • love edgar, his stories are amazing.(L)

  • @philipburtburt Congratulations? Idiot

  • WHOSE THERE?

  • THANKS FOR UPLOADING IT!!!

  • I think his most important masterpiece is "The Raven." I am truly amazed by the power and gloom of his words. I wonder if he has made more novels other than Arthur gordon pym, possibly unpublished or lost.

  • @ParacelsusXXXHadas yes there is umm they did a book with all of his work even a few of the lost ones

  • doing analysis for this is the bitch!!!!

  • @Nicc4042 I had two english classes give me the tell-tale heart. They were both taught by morons, mad if you will.

I don't know if they break out the poe when they start getting too stupid to live but, that sounds like a bad omen to me.

In an unrelated note, all the english classes I read Grendel in were kick ass.
