  • Your collection has brought back wonderful memories of Saturday nights in smoky discos. :)

  • When I feel down I just listen to this track. Reminds me of a carefree time, a hastle free time and a great time to be on the dance floor. I'm lucky I never did get rid of any of my 12" vinyl. They take up lots of room but are all well worth it. Keep the groove going.

  • long live you, your family and your vinyl collection!

  • Wicked track. I had 2 copies back in the day, I used to phase then. Nice 1. Cheers.

  • I was there, it was spot the white guy (me), Paul Trouble Anderson played some serious tunes then. Bigup to all the guys I used to dance with. Respect to you all here that attended Electric Ballroom, where can we catchup?

  • Yes, Real Limbo, I was one of those who bunked off school on a Friday and shed my uniform to get down to some good grooves provided by George Power!!

  • Anyone remember Shaun French All nighters.great times!

  • @russellsification Yeah he was also resident at the Safari Club, Windsor Saturday night - I used to go most weeks 1983/84 they used to have the flyers for Frenchies in Camberley by the bar.

  • Great quality records love the clear analog uploads!!!

  • frenchies in camberly on a sunday nite, bring it all back someone please!!!!!!!!!

  • When I entered my favourite disco at the end of the 70's I get to hear this funky space tune. It was an evergreen at that time & I played it a lot when I became a dj 2 years later. It didn't get much airplay but it was a smash at every soul/funk discotheque. I was proud when I found the album & a little later that 12". It's a pity that such music isn't done anymore.

  • I was a 13 and I paid £1 for this new ... I remember thinking what would it be like in there 3000 ... enigmatic electric ... La homage to Crackers and those who quick stepped down at Crackers.

  • One of my most favourite tunes, pure class

  • I remember this tune as well as George Power Crackers on a sat afternoon. Brilliant days fantastic memories. No grief from anyone we all just loved the music..............

    denboy51

  • @MrDess1e You just hit nail on the head .... Great time and everyone just got on. Great times

  • Who remembers George Power...bunking off school on Friday afternoon...sausage aand chips in a basket...all for a quid!...tell the kids that these days and they just don't believe you etc.

    haha

  • @TheReallimbo i remember those good old days.

  • Anyone remember George Power?

  • GOOD I LOVE THIS TOO!

  • ive missed this

  • If your hearing this for the first time and like what you hear. Try also "Can't live without your love " by Tomiko Jones. A blast of high energy. Late 70's before it's time. The kids nowdays would get a heart attack if they could last 1 minute with this tune.

  • OMG! IF FASTFLYER2007 DIDN'T POST THIS. I WOULD HAVE FORGOTTEN THIS. DAVE MANCUSO AT THE LOFT WOULD PLAY THIS OFTEN! LATE 70'S! I LOVE THIS TRACK. IT WAS SOO THE SPIRIT OF THE LOFT AT THE TIME. THANKS! FOR POSTING BIG TIME!

  • @pluggedin2u What a fantastic comment you are so right. Your words hit the nail right on its head... GR8 tune & thank you fastflyer2007 for yet another classic throw back!!

  • god this is such an awsome tune.. one of my favs

  • Great track played at Tiffanys Long lane Halesowen.back in the day.

  • How I loved, and still love this 'choon'... An all time favourite from Funkin days. This and Mongo Santamaria's jazz funk version of 'Watermelon Man' are sure to, get the party started...

  • oh god i loved this

  • does any one remember frenchies

  • This is sooooo ahead of its time it's quite unbelievable!

  • Oh Yessss, I still have this on 12 inch along with David Bendeth Feel the Real, two of my favs from my clubbing days in the late 70s most of my money went on clothes and imports records and the soul weekends at Caister, but this is amazing thanks for posting

  • @fishcakes205 OMG two of my fav tracks.. I remember the 1st time I heard Feel the Real it just blew my mind! Even now it still sounds so fresh - have both on 12" and will never ever part from them!! Try Dayton Sound of the Music too

  • Pure unadulterated Disco juice!

  • royalty, crackers,horseshoe,embassy cub,swiss cottage,electric ballroom.......................drain pipe jeans and white socks

if you were the crew back in the late 70s early 80s you will guess what i mean

    love those raving days

BIG UP George Power, Chris Hill.Paul Anderson and Froggy

all nighters and caister............love you babyx

  • I haven't heard this since 1979! Thank you :)

  • 1979 the sundown charring cross road w1 ,what great memories still sounds awsome ,any 1 remember that disco ???

  • This was one of the tunes which starts me dancing and fall in love with Discotheques & their music. It's a type of music which is like a drug, you can't sit & watch only, you've to move without stopping. For a good dj it was enough to use only the loudspeakers only to make a crowd going crazy with this track because it doesn't need any mix!

  • @jazzsoulfan, ain't that the truth!

  • Mash it Grizzly

  • the lead singer was married to the late Larry from Fat Larry's Band (remember Zoom, anyone?)

  • ¡Que sonido disco tan espectacular!,tiene mucho ritmo, melodia y sabor que le hace mover el esqueleto a cualquiera que le guste bailar y diviertirse.Saludos desde Venezuela.

  • "Crackers" on a Friday afternoon... Ol Skool!

  • la descubri hace unos 6 mesecillos y x seguir siendo un obligado en el i pod decreto que es mi tema favorito!!!

es la polla!!!!!!!!1 me flipa como entra el bajo y el guitarr

    7stars!!!!!!!!!

  • what a brilliant old school track . got this one in my 12 " collection but dont have a turntable nowadays to give it an airing .

  • @bobbysimmo buy a turntable! You can get a workable one the cheap. Your collection's lonely without ears to hear it: after all, that's what it lives for.

  • WHAT A TUNE, 31 years old and this tune is still tearing up the floors

  • I didnt realise that my ears could have an orgasm until i heard this again!!, ive been trying to get another copy of this since having all my vinyl nicked, thanks for posting this,,,,,,anyway excuse me while my ears go for the multiple!!!!

  • Loved this track, bought it when it came out, its soooo some to dance to!!!!

  • Wow what a tune this was and still is. Simply fab.

  • i was a bit young for remembering this in the clubs when it was released just as an oldie a couple of years later in early 80s.Think i heard it dropped as oldie at Caister about 83/84. Think it's a really early example of a type of disco/funk that would end in house in mid80s - very pioneering groove - far more "modern" sounding than most stuff from 1979.Actually did hear at an acid house do (probably Genesis in about 89).

  • One word...

    CAISTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • where can i download this in mp3

  • yes...Lyceum! I remember it well matey..Sunday's always the night for die hard funk & soul heads, especially work next day! where are those days..Harrington Jackets, Pegs, Winkle toe points...hmmmm!;-)

  • I was just in my teens when this tune...was played ...it still blows my mind to this day......!!

  • still a truly brilliant record. absolutely love this! blow your whistle in the lyceum!!

  • Four Words...LYCEUM IN THE STRAND..

  • do the rock ???

  • loved it then, still love it now. quality stands the test of time

  • 6.14-6.17

  • Best ever Pure Disco - Magnifique - Thank you so Much for Posting this MEGA GROOVE - c'est de la balle !!!

  • Man alive, that beat & continuous bass-riff is almost House.

It's just the vocals that really date the trak.

With a slight remix, this could be real big all over again.

  • Where I come from(the southside of Chicago...more specifically Ron Hardy's Muzik Box of the early 80's) this was, is, and always will be pumped as house

  • without the vox, a remix might make it sound too much like deep house. (which all sounds the same..very formatted)

I think it's great the way it is...

  • @bootsamou Your absolutely right! The vocals and the disco strings which usually accompanied most of the tracks in that time date the trak. but it is still awesome. The bassline, drums and synths are tremendously moving. Makes you want to take off.

  • wicked tune, reminds me of saturday mornings at the 100 club, i was only 13!

  • timeless!!!!!!!!!!tune.

  • Memorable Top Tune! Big Up to this one and remember? Old Vinyl never

    dies, it just Warps!

  • This songhas one of the funkiest grooves ever. My 2yr. old goes bananas dancing when shehears it.

  • another old favorite those were the days when disco funk ruled the world.

  • este disco es la maxima expresion de la musica disco.salve a la reina de todos los ritmos

  • Now this is a serious tune. I used to work myself into a sweating mass dancing to this. Great to hear this again..thank you.

  • we need our own station playing this sort of stuff

  • Far out, man

  • cosmic tune

  • Its just one of those tracks that was really only known and appreciated by the few who enjoyed the "funkness" and where to find it. It was one of those tunes that didn't play much on the radio, but when you heard it you wanted it played more. In a way it was good that it didn't overplay on the air. Just on the dance floor.

  • Agreed mr. hawkfish69! Like so many dance tunes back then...... methinks its time to re launch them ...as there aint a lot goin on chart wise?

  • Oh this takes me back to Soho, London. All the great clubs then.

  • Yet another fav funk tune, takes me back...
