This track was released when I was 11. I remember being in a bar that catered for us youngsters (yes at that age- no alcohol!) and this was a big release. Great tune, great memories. Thanks fastflyer!!
dammit - why was i born in 86 i should have been born in 1950 so i could have lived the 60's 70's and 80's and even some of the 90's then just pass away b4 its the year 2000 :)
When I feel down I just listen to this track. Reminds me of a carefree time, a hastle free time and a great time to be on the dance floor. I'm lucky I never did get rid of any of my 12" vinyl. They take up lots of room but are all well worth it. Keep the groove going.
I was there, it was spot the white guy (me), Paul Trouble Anderson played some serious tunes then. Bigup to all the guys I used to dance with. Respect to you all here that attended Electric Ballroom, where can we catchup?
Recorded & Mixed by Gene Leone with Len Barry and the Alpha/WMOT Crew back in the day at Alpha International Recording Studios in Philly... ~BigSmiles, Gene - Gene_Leone_Mix p.s. (((I haven't heard this played back in years!)))
@fastflyer2007 I agree with you. I would give up almost anything in this life, but my vinyl is not one. Never sell, not even the not so good ones. Peace
i'l drop this anyday its a rize to actually own the vinyl played it in dukes vauxhall now known and shown the way its called horsemeat disco though i never got paid it was me being a friend to all you people out there with love.
THE ABSOLUTE NUTS!!!! weekenders and zero 6 and the goldmine! Awhhhh, the best years of my life enjoying the best music ever! wish to god l could go back 30 years and live it all again! thanks for your superb channel !
@russellsification Yeah he was also resident at the Safari Club, Windsor Saturday night - I used to go most weeks 1983/84 they used to have the flyers for Frenchies in Camberley by the bar.
When I entered my favourite disco at the end of the 70's I get to hear this funky space tune. It was an evergreen at that time & I played it a lot when I became a dj 2 years later. It didn't get much airplay but it was a smash at every soul/funk discotheque. I was proud when I found the album & a little later that 12". It's a pity that such music isn't done anymore.
I was a 13 and I paid £1 for this new ... I remember thinking what would it be like in there 3000 ... enigmatic electric ... La homage to Crackers and those who quick stepped down at Crackers.
I remember this tune as well as George Power Crackers on a sat afternoon. Brilliant days fantastic memories. No grief from anyone we all just loved the music..............
Who remembers George Power...bunking off school on Friday afternoon...sausage aand chips in a basket...all for a quid!...tell the kids that these days and they just don't believe you etc.
If your hearing this for the first time and like what you hear. Try also "Can't live without your love " by Tomiko Jones. A blast of high energy. Late 70's before it's time. The kids nowdays would get a heart attack if they could last 1 minute with this tune.
OMG! IF FASTFLYER2007 DIDN'T POST THIS. I WOULD HAVE FORGOTTEN THIS. DAVE MANCUSO AT THE LOFT WOULD PLAY THIS OFTEN! LATE 70'S! I LOVE THIS TRACK. IT WAS SOO THE SPIRIT OF THE LOFT AT THE TIME. THANKS! FOR POSTING BIG TIME!
@pluggedin2u What a fantastic comment you are so right. Your words hit the nail right on its head... GR8 tune & thank you fastflyer2007 for yet another classic throw back!!
How I loved, and still love this 'choon'... An all time favourite from Funkin days. This and Mongo Santamaria's jazz funk version of 'Watermelon Man' are sure to, get the party started...
Oh Yessss, I still have this on 12 inch along with David Bendeth Feel the Real, two of my favs from my clubbing days in the late 70s most of my money went on clothes and imports records and the soul weekends at Caister, but this is amazing thanks for posting
@fishcakes205 OMG two of my fav tracks.. I remember the 1st time I heard Feel the Real it just blew my mind! Even now it still sounds so fresh - have both on 12" and will never ever part from them!! Try Dayton Sound of the Music too
This was one of the tunes which starts me dancing and fall in love with Discotheques & their music. It's a type of music which is like a drug, you can't sit & watch only, you've to move without stopping. For a good dj it was enough to use only the loudspeakers only to make a crowd going crazy with this track because it doesn't need any mix!
¡Que sonido disco tan espectacular!,tiene mucho ritmo, melodia y sabor que le hace mover el esqueleto a cualquiera que le guste bailar y diviertirse.Saludos desde Venezuela.

i was a bit young for remembering this in the clubs when it was released just as an oldie a couple of years later in early 80s.Think i heard it dropped as oldie at Caister about 83/84. Think it's a really early example of a type of disco/funk that would end in house in mid80s - very pioneering groove - far more "modern" sounding than most stuff from 1979.Actually did hear at an acid house do (probably Genesis in about 89).
yes...Lyceum! I remember it well matey..Sunday's always the night for die hard funk & soul heads, especially work next day! where are those days..Harrington Jackets, Pegs, Winkle toe points...hmmmm!;-)
Where I come from(the southside of Chicago...more specifically Ron Hardy's Muzik Box of the early 80's) this was, is, and always will be pumped as house

Man alive, that beat & continuous bass-riff is almost House.
It's just the vocals that really date the trak.
With a slight remix, this could be real big all over again.

without the vox, a remix might make it sound too much like deep house. (which all sounds the same..very formatted)
