  • Oschino went bananas, classic diss to Nasir!

  • It's 2012 now...and that obviously means we are just about near 10 years since all of the aftermath of 2001 NYC rap drama ('01 Summer Jam at The Coliseum, "Stillmatic" freestyle, "Takeover" & finally "Ether") spilled into 2002 and completely turned into mixtape madness all over the city, and the whole entire country, really. 'Cause EVERYBODY wanted these "Takeover Show" freestyles. Then local NY radio got more involved, of course, with Clear Channel bringing in Power 105 in March (?) of '02...

  • ...Which of course led to Mr. Jones of Queensbridge going up there later on in June of that year (with the now-infamous BIG Steph Lova & Treach alongside him) to completely lamblast Hot--for Tracy (Hov's "girl friday" at the time) not letting him hang the Jay-esque dummy on the Summer Jam stage--the entire night. And I remember it. And I'll never forget it. :D Then that led to K-Slay taking his side and playing "Stillmatic" cuts on Hot (the newly fresh "Drama Hour") when he wasn't suppose to...

  • ...Which then led to the "Too Much for Me"/Loon nonsense, that eventually had Slay flip on Esco (or Nasty or Ill Will Esco-Bar...hopefully it wasn't never "Esco's Trash"! Lol!) and put him on blast on Big Tigger's (coincidentally, and most still don't know it, the one who was supposed to be in-studio in Manhattan on Power 105 the night in June when Nasir stomped 395-Hudson cats out something crazy!) "Rap City: Tha Basement"....

  • Then, snitch-stitch curtis came in with "Wanksta" in 2002 (if I remember correctly, first premiered by Mr. C on Hot in May of '02). By early-'03, he had it locked. He brought up Banks & Yayo (who tore down that 2003 Hot freestyle session! Ya'll know which one I'm getting at!) and made "G-unit"--white boys went crazy and LOVED it. So, that meant pretty much the end of commercial airtime for the prime and serious Philly boys. But we still have these freestyles a decade later. We still need 'em.
